Grey stood perfectly still watching his family eat dinner in their new home.
Just the sight of made all kinds of scenarios race through his mind.
'What if they see me as a monster now, what if they see me as a traitor for teaming up with a fox, what if they—'
Lily was awoken from her slumber late into the night feeling all kinds of fear and guilt hitting her at once. "What if they hug me and I feel nothing?"
She looked surprised at the words that came out her mouth and felt all kinds of negativity coming from her rune.
Lily sat up on her bed in a loutas position and began concentrating on where these strong feelings where coming from.
She felt three strings attached to her rune core and one was covered in strong negativity so she followed this fate string.
The next moment as if her spirit left her body she appeared next to grey as a floating head looking around in surprise.
She saw the misty hills in all it beauty and buildings with rabbits acting like people.
After taking in the view she finally realized she was next to grey who was trembling while staring at a building not to far in the distance.
She came close to him while speaking gently "who are they, why don't you go talk to them?"
Greys entire body tensed up for a split second but as he got in a fighting stance the face matched the voice he knew.
"Phew, don't scare me like that… wait how are you here?"
She looked at him with a knowing look "Don't you dare change the subject, all you need to know is that after summoning my third creature with Adam I've been learning how to use just summoning energy without bringing a creature to my side. Now answer my question you seem to be so full and worry I could feel it in my sleep?"
Grey looked down in regret "I'm so sorry, it's just… I want to… no I need to talk to my family but I've been so busy I haven't had any time to realize how much I've changed I'm basically a monster!" Greys eyes were a bit watery but he seemed to barely keep himself together.
"Hmmm and what's the difference between monsters and beasts? No offense but we don't have many elemental beast roaming the forest here."
Grey looked at her strangely after the question "well rune beast or elemental beast as you call are closer to spirits slowly becoming one with the energy of nature and gaining a beast kin form."
"While mister's like chimeras are taken over by that energy becoming permanently berserk and bloodthirsty stealing the energy of others while gaining a demon form."
She looked at grey quizzically "hmm if that's so that doesn't sound like and you haven't changed much im sure of it."
Grey scoffed at that. "You don't understand I was a ordinary rabbit before becoming a chimera which is more likely to become a monster, and only recently have I noticed that my body has been getting numbed form using my rune directly through my body. Worst of all when I enter the lucid labs and review my memories is see just red and death before I crashed here!"
Lily stared at the rabbit full of pain and regret
"What happened to the rabbit that jumped first and looked down later? Tell me this, you did all this to save them correct? If so how did they react when you saved them."
Grey thought about it both times he met them was in a chaotic situation but the smile they showed him at the time felt warm and genuine.
"As for your body becoming numb it's probably from repeated injuries inside your body for using the vibrations inside yourself to fight. It like if a fire user burned their organs to gain a power boost, give it time to heal or it'll get worse with time."
Grey listened to her words intently thinking about the few times he met his mother in their new home she was always welcoming but still had a glint of worry in her eyes.
"The fact that your worried about this and the red memories of death is just proof that the chimera bloodline hasn't changed you. My little rune rabbit your always acting like a free spirit which makes me want to be more free myself, so go free yourself from this grief and talk to them I'm sure you suffered a lot all for this moment don't let it go."
Grey nodded at her words and slowly made his way home.
As grey walked away Lily felt the black string full of negativity connecting her and grey slowly turn bright Gold with a thin line of crimson.
It felt as if the bond between the two of them had deepened and her summoning rune actually felt stronger. "Interesting so pure trust can enhance my rune and beast or is it something else? I'll need to asks uncle Brian."
Lily's spirit slowly faded away as she awoke back at the mansion.
At that moment she felt as if she had a epiphany about her power.
She concentrated hard for a few minutes and a portal appeared infront of her but nothing came out of it for a while so she stuck her hand through it and another portal appeared across the room with her arm emerging.
"Oh it seems summoning allows me to open portal for personal use like a space user? Wait!!! Didn't they say we summon thing across space time so if I can use space spells I should be able to use some time spells?"
At the mention of that she ran out her room late at night and entered her fathers personal library studying a few books.
Grey was slowly approaching his family's front door with legs that shook like grass in the wind. 'I can fight creatures stronger than me and explore new realms but why is going back home after so long so nerve wracking?' He thought to himself
"Stupid emotions, let's just get this over with quick and… oh boy here we go." Grey finally made it to the front door.
After a few deep breaths he knocked on the door with every knock his heart raced.
"Coming, ok kids go get ready for dinner and set the food." A voice came through.
"Yes ma'am, hey go clean the table!"
"Why should I clean that mess I didn't make it so it's not my problem."
"If you wanna eat then clean the table!"
"Fine but only cause I want to eat not because you said to."
Hearing all the bickering inside with his sensitive hearing made grey chuckle a bit.
Before he realized it the door was opening in greys eyes it felt as if everything was now moving in slow motion as his heart raced.
Violet opened the door and looked surprised at grey standing there smiling awkwardly.
"Uh hey ma how have you been, I'm… I'm finally home."
Violet slapped him which shocked grey even more then he was nervous before she pulled him into a tight hug that seemingly hurt and felt nice.
"My baby's finally home, don't ever and I mean ever just throw away your life like you have been for us again." She wimpered out as tears fell down her face.
"I've heard everything from shin and Tony you might not care about your well being my little potato but I do!" At those words grey felt his eyes blur as water fell from them.
"Yes ma I'm so sorry for worrying you all this time."
A small skinny white rabbit passed by and saw the scene in front of the door as water fell down around them.
"Hey some Bastard is making mom cry EVERYONE GET HIM!"
Grey quickly wiped his eyes only to see six rabbits slightly smaller than he was tackle him into the ground
"Oh big bro is back."
"Why did you make mom cry!"
"We are all finally together."
"GROUP HUG!!!"
"Wait wait wait ~Errk~"
Everyone turned the tackle into one big hug with grey under all the weight.
Violet looked at the scene tenderly before joining in.
Even though he could barley feel the hugs they gave him a warm fuzzy feeling entered his body which he embraced happily thinking to himself 'she was right I'm still me'
Violet let go after a while and wiped her face "ok everyone let head inside and eat I'm sure grey is hungry and will explain why all his friends are carnivores!"
Grey laughed nervously "not all of them Maria is a bee that turned into a was and Rex is a chicken… oh and zinc is a snail."
Violet just walked inside the dirt house while giggling.
"Yeah bro we talked to your girlfriend!"
"Girlfriend?"
"Yeah! The snake!" All six of them said at once
"Oh?… OH! Wait wait wait just a minute we are… just friends."
"You both say that so unconvincingly." A few said with eye rolls while the others dragged grey inside to eat.
"We gotta show you our runes then you have to tell us about your journey."
"Yeah your girlfriend said your went to another world?"
After eating Violet used water to clean the area and create a ice stage in the rocky floor.
Ok you can show off after you names been called, she said with a chuckle seeing how excited the children were.
"Ok bumper your first."
"Yes!!! Take that suckers me first." Yelled the only one with black fur as he zipped around ice stage very quickly.
"Hahaha check me out, I awakened the best rune ever… pure Speed."
He zipped around the stage and house quickly before doing a triple flip on stage and landing in a pose.
"Beat that suckers!"
Ther other five started booing him as he left happily.
"Next is tiny."
A small rabbit with a pink bow on her head entered the stage next.
"I can't manipulate the earth yet but… I can do this!" She stomped her foot and some stone rose from the ground as she kicked it towards bumper.
"Oh no watch out?" She yell sarcastically.
Bumper barley dodged that with his high speed "what the hell was that we both know that wasn't a accident."
Bumper and tiny started bickering make grey laugh as Violet called "snow" out.
The skinny white rabbit walked on stage proudly like someone ready to amaze everyone.
"I awakened the best element ever! Just like mom I awakened the water element."
A blue glow surrounded he paws "I can't manipulate water yet but I can already heal so I must be a genius."
She quickly left the stage looking proud of herself.
"Puffy your next." Violet called out.
A slightly chubby brown rabbit with two black spot entered the stage.
"I unlocked the best rune ever the rune of snacks!"
Every exhaled in disbelief while Violet shook her head in mock surrender.
Grey was quite curious "can you show me your power over snacks?"
"Don't encourage her!" Violet said.
Puffy nodded as she grabbed a few small seeds and channeled energy into it uncontrollably.
In an instant the seeds turned into baby tomatoes.
"She has a plant rune but the way she uses it is… unconventional to say the least." Violet said with a tired look.
Puffy left the stage while eating the tomatoes.
"Rosie your next."
A grey rabbit with white patches entered next.
"Hehehe finally, you get to witness greatness." A leopard spirit appeared behind her as her white patches became white spots and she grew claws and fangs.
"I'll be the greatest hunter every and help the next time anyone attacks, I'm almost as fast as as bumper using his full speed."
"Woah a beast rune the only ones with one of those was elder oaks and blitz!" Grey said in surprise.
Violet nodded "it was even more surprising at the time since her rune is a top carnivorous creature unlike anything other rabbits got."
Rosie detransformed and high fived bumper "hell yeah I told you he'd be shocked."
"Bobby jr your up."
A very small grey rabbit with dark grey stripes entered next with a small book in his paws.
He quickly jumped over the stage before gliding down as if he was weightless.
"I got air I guess… nothing crazy but I like it and it'll be sufficient for now."
"Amazing I love them all!" Grey said clapping.
Violet quickly interrupted "don't be so quick to end this Your next!"
"Huh me?" Grey said pointing at himself.
"Yes and show off everything!" She said with finality leaving no room for negotiation.
"Umm ok?" Grey walked on stage as his siblings gathered around him watching with baited breathes.
Grey took a deep berath and whispered something while covering his mouth.
At the same time every heard a loud roar behind them causing them to turn around only to see nothing when they turned back grey was gone.
"Hello kiddos give me all your snacks!"
They all heard violets voice behind them now except their mother was infront of them by the stage.
As that all turned around again they found grey there still talking in their mothers voice.
"I awakened the sound rune which is perfect for tricksters and speed."
"Whoa what level are you?" Bumper asked curiously.
"Hmm about thirty two I'll say."
All the kids were left shocked "I thought karma only leveled up so fast because his power was luck?"
"Well that too but we also almost died a lot outside so we had to get stronger to live."
The kids looked sad to hear that.
"That is sad but I said to show them everything you have."
Grey looked at her nervously "do I have to it's not like that is important?" He asked with pleading eyes.
"They are going to learn about it eventually might as well be from you and since it's not important they're is no reason to hide it right!"
Grey nodded as she used his words against him.
Tiny yelled at grey "you better not hold out on us bro we showed you sour powers!"
Grey let out a deep sigh "ok just don't be scared I got this power after almost dying for like the third time and used a rainbow potion."
The kids were exstatic watching but their eyes slow turned to into concern and then fear as they audibly heard bones snapping and flash
They watched as his fur retreated and scales took their place, wings slowly emerged from his back making look like a rabbit with green scales and wings.
It was only now that he was in complete silence instead of a hectic battlefield that he also heard the noises echo around himself.
He worriedly looked up "hey guys it's me still"
