I look away just as the desk phone rings. As soon as I answer, I want to slam it back down. This is the nth irate call I've received since this morning, questioning Keith's absence. I try to calm myself, but there's only so much I can do when every time I pick up the phone, I'm met with angry, very busy businessmen whose time we've "wasted". Just what has Keith promised them that they're incredibly upset about this? Or am I just too sensitive and overwhelmed right now?
I do my best to appease the caller, offering to take a message, but before I can even finish my sentence, he's already told me to fuck off, then ends the call abruptly.
"Oh, fuck you too!" I slam the receiver back down. I can't stand disrespectful bastards.
When I glance up, Gael and Giovanni are still at the door, looking at me like I've gone crazy. "What? He cursed and hung up first. Do you need anything else besides asking me what I don't know? I'd like to go back to my work."
