Life was really like the sea — you never knew what you were facing until the storm was already around you.
Flying back in time after the accident that caused Yuki's death in his past life… there were things Yuki didn't know, or didn't bother to ask about — things the Eagle hadn't let him know.
His actions had made a huge splash in the world, which was partly why the Eagle took notice of him. That "splash" had earned him vast positive karma, making him shine like a lighthouse.
It wasn't just his last act of courage — it was also what he did every day. He spent time visiting and donating to orphanages. Being one himself, he considered it normal, but for the children, those few hours of play and the donations brightened their entire year.
His kindness and care for society seemed ordinary to him, yet for the people he helped, it reminded them that goodness still existed in the world.
Then came the accident. As the news spread, everyone who knew him felt devastated. Days passed, then weeks, yet the feeling of loss never faded — especially since his body was never found.
Soon after, a video of unknown origin appeared on social media, titled simply: "Last Shine of a Star — You May Rest in Peace." Its poor quality made it hard to recognize the people, but the sight of a man saving two girls, willing to sacrifice everything, shocked everyone. Some even thought it was a teaser for a new movie.
As anyone familiar with the internet could guess, the identities of those in the video eventually came to light, with surprising detail.
With that revelation, the two sisters stepped into the spotlight. Their actions and lives shocked everyone, yet they didn't hide the truth. They expressed gratitude and promised to keep Yuki's wishes alive.
As years passed, each sister carved her own path — gaining fame and becoming beloved figures. One became a brilliant scientist, despite her airheadedness; the other, a top engineer specializing in aerodynamics and space travel.
Their achievements pushed humanity closer to space exploration. In their final days, they met the same Eagle Yuki had met, who offered them the same opportunity.
Surprisingly, Hana and Sophia requested to be sent to the same world after learning Yuki was out there. Amused by their reasoning, the Eagle agreed. He placed them into the bodies of young aliens who had landed on Earth and granted them unique abilities, using their positive karma to determine their powers — meaning they had no choice in the matter.
And now, here they were, opening their eyes in this new world for the first time, overwhelmed with new information, right in the middle of what appeared to be a rescue operation.
"Okay… that's not what I expected," one twin muttered as the screeching sound of metal being ripped apart filled the air.
Following the noise, they saw a man over two meters tall, wearing a mask shaped like a bird. Its hooked beak gave him a predatory air, and only his sharp eyes were visible.
From the other side, he tore through a wall like it was paper. The moment his eyes met theirs, they dimly glowed for a second before he froze, scanning the people around him.
After speaking into what appeared to be a communication device, he moved swiftly to the three youngest children in the room, his care evident in every action.
Hana's voice came into Sophia's mind: "You noticed that?" Sophia nodded. "Some kind of scanning ability?"
"But not the time. Did you get the memories of your body?" Sophia sent back. Hana froze, then nodded.
"Looks like we just got caught in some kind of operation against this group," Sophia added. "Well… not every day you wake up as an alien in captivity."
"Anyway, try to scan him?" Sophia asked, urging Hana to use her ability on the masked man.
Hana nodded, but then froze and hugged Sophia's arm tightly.
"Hey, I'm here. Don't worry, Hana, it's okay," Sophia thought, assuming it was a panic episode from their past-life trauma.
"No… it's not that," Hana sent. "It's… him… the crazy man!"
"Eh!" Sophia blurted aloud, turning in surprise.
"Wait — you're saying that man is Yuta?" Sophia thought. She remembered the Eagle had said they would meet him in his teens, yet this man appeared past twenty, just by his build.
"That's what my scan says!" Hana replied. "He just turned eighteen, and guess what? He's ranked 12!"
"An eighteen-year-old?" Sophia muttered, eyeing the massive man approaching the two women.
"Maybe it's his diet? Maybe he could share it," Hana joked, earning an eye-roll from Sophia.
"Welcome to another world, I guess," Sophia murmured. She glanced at their benefactor and savior from their past life. "Guess he's still saving people, just on another level."
"Yup. Crazy man went Super Saiyan. That's great!" Hana grinned, and Sophia smiled at the nickname her sister gave him.
In short, the twins were reincarnators — second generation. This man, Yuki Alexander, also known as Crown or "Yuta" in his past life, was the reason they were here.
The Fight Begins
In the middle of their telepathic discussion, the women screamed, and Yuki tried to calm them.
"Look at the wall," Hana warned. Sophia spotted the shadow of a person standing there. They tried to direct Yuki's attention by pointing with their eyes.
Moments later, a metallic clang echoed, followed by a manic laugh. "Now that's not good, you know." Yuki appeared, blocking something as another loud clang reverberated.
Kicking forward, Yuki stood guard. "You know, if you let me kill the girls, I can let you die without much pain," the voice taunted. Reflexively, Yuki fired a couple of bullets toward the source.
"Oh, that's dangerous, you know," the voice replied. Yuki raised his right arm — another clang rang out.
"Really now, that's some heavy gear you've got there," the voice teased again, followed by Yuki dodging and defending invisible swings repeatedly.
"Okay, you're starting to get on my nerves," the voice returned after two or three minutes. "Can you even see me?"
"Nah. I don't need to see you to know where you'll strike," Yuki replied coolly.
"Hmmm…" the voice hummed, then fell silent. Yuki raised an eyebrow and suddenly moved, guarding a woman from a slicing attack to her neck. He then rushed to the kids, blocking another stabbing motion, frowning.
"Well, I like this game more. Let's see who gets tired first," the maniac laughed again, now targeting the twins.
"Okay, that's enough," Yuki muttered. With smooth movements, he intercepted a blade aimed at the twins, delivering three heavy jabs. The attacker froze, kneeling in shock.
As she fell, her invisibility dissipated, revealing a woman in her forties, holding twin short swords.
"What did you do? How did you spot me?" she demanded, panicking.
"Never heard of infrared cameras?" Yuki replied simply. "And as for what happened to you…" He balled his fist, a small spark dancing across his knuckles. "The shock you took to the heart should've knocked you out — not just paralyzed. You're tough, I'll give you that."
He restrained her and scanned her, discovering she was an ability user with a chameleon-type avatar.
Sophia and Hana exchanged excited glances. "That was so cool! Like super instinct or something?" Hana thought. "And what was that vanishing trick?"
"Probably some ability," Sophia answered, secretly finding Yuki attractive. "I know, right?" Hana smirked, catching her sister's thought.
"Yeah…" Sophia admitted, watching Yuki drag the woman away. Another figure arrived — a woman wearing the same type of gear as Yuki but with a skull-themed mask.
"Whoa, tall," Hana exclaimed. "Do you think everyone here is like this?"
"Probably. Anyway, how do we stick close to Yuki? They'll probably send us to an orphanage," Sophia mused.
"Hmm… how about we just play cute and stick to his arms?" Hana suggested, leaving Sophia smiling wryly. Then she added mischievously, "What if we call him Daddy?"
"Oh!" Sophia's eyes lit up. "That might work! And since our background's unknown, they might just think we mistook him for our father!"
As Wanda, the skull-masked woman, approached, the twins ended their mental chatter. She knelt before them.
"Hello, little fellas," she said, extending her hand. "Can I check your health?"
Sophia extended her hand. Wanda pulled out a portable scanner. Hana asked innocently, "Where did Papa go?"
"Eh?" Wanda froze. "You mean… your father was captured here too?"
"No! The one who saved us! That's Papa!" Sophia exclaimed, performing her best childish act.
"You mean one of our people is your father?" Wanda asked, shocked. "Can you tell me your names? I'll call him immediately."
"Un," Sophia nodded. "I'm Sophia, and this is Hana. We don't remember much except that."
"Oh?" Wanda checked the scanner and found nothing unusual, attributing it to trauma-induced memory loss.
"But we can feel our father," Hana said, following their improvised script. "He's the giant one with the birdy mask."
Wanda blinked in disbelief. "Hold on… you mean your father is actually the man leading the people inside here?"
They nodded.
"The one with the scary beak-like mask?" Wanda reconfirmed. They nodded again.
pffft [Oi, Feather!! come here if you're done. You need to hear this.] Wanda's amused voice crackled over the comm. [Wow, I didn't know you had such cute kids.]
The twins thought in unison: Wow, this lady looks hella fun. And they were absolutely right.
