On Earth's surface, aboard a train billowing thick black smoke, Anna twirled a strand of her hair with her fingers and smiled softly at Feierbahah in front of her. "Where was Charles taken? Why hasn't he come back yet?"
"I don't know. You should ask those tall guys from the Heike Clan about that, I'm not familiar with them," Feierbahah replied, somewhat innocently.
"You're not familiar with them? Really? I don't believe it."
Anna couldn't be bothered to argue further and simply used her ability to scan his memory, quickly unveiling everything inside Feierbahah's brain.
After a swift review that turned up nothing of value, much of the memories were trivial matters. The old Anna might have been deceived, but the current Anna was different.
As her will penetrated deeper into his brain, Anna acutely sensed something unnatural about his memories; they seemed patched together, tampered with by someone.
