Charles and Linda stared blankly at the girl covered in scars on the bed, neither of them ever expecting that the other would say such words.
But after seeing the girl's scarred body, Charles shook his head. "No, you can retire now, you've fulfilled your duty."
Grace struggled to stand up, and as Charles's heart moved slightly, transparent tentacles supported her back, lifting her up.
"If I step down, who will take over my duties?"
"You don't need to worry about that, and I have some matters to attend to next," Charles said calmly.
Whether it was the Pope or Anna, they had to be dealt with thoroughly.
Grace stubbornly shook her head, "No, he will die if I do that!"
Linda immediately became anxious, afraid that Charles would agree and stepped forward, saying, "And what about you? Won't you die?"
"But!"
Charles waved his hand forcefully, speaking sternly, "Enough! There's no 'but'! You are no longer of use! Get down!!"
