After struggling with the squirming translucent tentacles for quite a while, Charles finally thought of a plan. Under his command, the bandage-like thorny vines twisted rapidly, growing swiftly along its body.
Under the control of these vines, the speed of the tentacles slowed down significantly.
Seizing this opportunity, Charles flew directly to the creature's rear and grabbed the vine handle on its back. Then, with the push of hundreds of tentacles and the concerted efforts of the crew, they finally managed to pull those tentacles off the bow of the Unicorne.
Without the buoyancy of the Unicorne, under the influence of Earth's gravity, the tentacles quickly plummeted into the darkness, by which time the bow had already been devoured by them.
With the disappearance of the tentacles, the strange sensation everyone had felt finally vanished, and the crew members collapsed on the ground, gasping for air.
