Knock! Knock! Knock!
Ceres snapped awake, her entire body going on full alert at the irregular rhythm against the wood. Her mind didn't register that she was currently safe in Eli's house; instead, her deeply ingrained instincts as an assassin took over. She scanned the room for exits, muscles coiled to spring.
"Belle?"
Ceres blinked, the modern room coming back into focus. The fog of sleep cleared, and her spiked adrenaline finally began to dissipate. Letting her guard down with a quiet exhale, she walked over and cracked the door open, peeking outside.
"I fell asleep. Sorry," she murmured.
"Ah! Sorry for waking you," Neon said, offering an apologetic smile. "I thought you were just using Eli's computer. Auntie Jo told me to bring you down for lunch."
"Give me a sec."
