A female voice cried out as it grew closer, "Hey! Can you help me with--" She saw that Ziyll was fighting three DeasinWolves and halted abruptly. Turning to face what was chasing her, she immediately stretched out her hands. A magic circle formed on the ground, producing a wall of water that froze solid. The creatures chasing her collided with the ice wall. Ziyll guessed what creatures they were and was correct. After the ice wall dissipated, three more DeasinWolves came into view. They joined forces with the other three. The girl moved closer to Ziyll and his familiar, ready to fight the wolves.
The girl had light-pink eyes and pink hair. She wore a beautiful blue full-skirt dress that reached her knees and brown leather boots. She then froze the ground around Crimzine, Ziyll, and herself, giving them little time to plan their next move. The DeasinWolves positioned themselves, circling the two mages and the familiar, trapping them in the center with no way to flee. At that moment, Ziyll said, "You take two while we handle the other four," looking at the girl.
The girl nodded in confirmation, "Alright."
As soon as the ice dissipated, leaving solid ground, the DeasinWolves attacked. The girl created a water ball twice the size of the first DeasinWolf, which froze the wolf inside as soon as it made contact with the water. She then covered her left wrist in ice, allowing the second DeasinWolf to bite without reaching her flesh. Using her right hand, she stabbed it twice with an icicle the size of a knife, killing it. At the same time, Ziyll created a tornado, capturing the third DeasinWolf and sending it flying into a stone. With a tornado around his fist, he punched the fourth DeasinWolf with great force. Crimzine charged at the fifth DeasinWolf, slashing it to the ground with its claws and biting its neck to death. The sixth DeasinWolf, seeing that Ziyll had forgotten about it, lunged at him. Ziyll felt it coming and turned to counter, but it was too late; the sixth DeasinWolf bit his right hand. Ziyll let out a small cry of pain, "Ah!" Instantly, Crimzine bit the wolf's leg, breaking the bone, and stabbed it with its claw, killing the sixth DeasinWolf. The third DeasinWolf regained consciousness only to see a red salamander looking down at it with a bloody mouth. That was the last thing the DeasinWolf saw. The fourth DeasinWolf was pinned to a tree with an icicle the size of a knife through its belly.
The girl let out a sigh of victory and turned to Ziyll. "I can heal that for you," she said, smiling.
Ziyll had red hair and blood-red eyes. He wore a green shirt, brown trousers, and brown boots.
Ziyll replied, "You know healing?" while smiling and petting Crimzine. His smile faded as he looked at the girl.
The girl smiled and said, "Yep." Ziyll raised an eyebrow at her. She added, "Just the basics, but trust me, it'll stop your bleeding."
"Alright," Ziyll said, stretching out his wounded hand to her. She took his hand, placed her other hand above the wound, and began to chant. A magic rune spread over the wound like tree roots, shining a bright green color. Ziyll's wound started to heal. "You really know healing," Ziyll said.
"Mm-hmm," she nodded.
After the healing was done, the once bloody wound now looked like a tiny animal bite.
Inspecting it, Ziyll said, "Huh, not bad... not bad at all."
She crossed her arms. "Yeah, I know it's magnificent. How many people could do this? Hehe," she said proudly. "It took me two months to learn this," she added nonchalantly, remembering the effort she put into learning it.
"Really? I thought it took less than half a month for an average person" Ziyll said.
The girl giggled, "What? No, healing is really hard to learn. Whoever told you that got you real good... hahaha."
*So Kayel was talented when it came to healing then, damn him,* Ziyll thought.
The girl grinned. "My name is Nalleyia Inkaell," she said, placing her hand on her chest.
Ziyll responded, "Mine is Ziyll... Ziyll OrTh."
Nalleyia smiled, "Nice to meet ya."
"You too," Ziyll replied.
Nalleyia looked at Crimzine. "A cute salamander, your familiar, right?"
Ziyll said, "Hmm?" as if he didn't see the salamander.
Nalleyia pointed at Crimzine while walking towards her. "Your familiar... the salamander."
"Oh, yeah. Of course, she is my familiar," Ziyll said.
Standing toe to toe with Crimzine, Nalleyia ran her hand along Crimzine's cheeks and chin. Crimzine closed her eyes, enjoying the petting, her tail swaying. Smiling, Nalleyia then rubbed Crimzine's head. Crimzine's tail dropped, and her eyes opened. "This is weird," Nalleyia said.
"What is?" Ziyll questioned.
"I remember that salamanders love being petted on the head, but Crimzine doesn't seem to enjoy it," Nalleyia said, tilting her head. Crimzine mimicked her.
Ziyll flinched. "Umm... maybe she's not in the mood?" he said. "And we better move before the scent of these dead guys attracts more creatures," he added, indicating the DeasinWolves' corpses.
Nalleyia agreed, "Oh! Yes! I will lead the way, you two follow me!" She raised her right hand as she walked. Crimzine hopped onto Ziyll's shoulder as the three of them walked to the school.
After walking and fighting some creatures, they finally arrived at the school's gate. Entering the school compound, Nalleyia looked around for her twin sister. Ziyll watched but didn't ask who she was looking for. Spotting her sister, Nalleyia called out loudly.
"Nini!!" she exclaimed.
Her sister turned around, responding, "Nana!!"
Running towards each other, they hugged.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt?" Nini asked, searching for any wounds on Nalleyia.
"I am fine, Nini. What about you? How did you finish the test?" Nalleyia reassured her.
"I'm good too. I teamed up with four other kids over there," Nini replied, pointing behind her with her thumb.
"Thank God," Nalleyia expressed relief.
Nini inquired, "So you? Did you finish it on your own?"
"Nope, I teamed up with that guy over there--" Nalleyia turned around only to see that Ziyll wasn't there. "He's gone?..."
Nini pondered, then looked at Nalleyia again. "Here, let's go too."
Ziyll and his familiar walked further into the school, got what they needed, and went straight to his room.
