Chapter 24 - My lazy consort

*Present time*

~Saadid Company~

*(Nessy's Office)*

'Just his,' Nessy thought with a smile. She liked the way it sounded, and she surely loved being his.

"Ok then, let's go home. I am really exhausted," she said to him, placing her hand on her forehead, signaling her fatigue.

"Yes, but you still have a lot of work on your desk," Geb said, glancing at the pile of undone paperwork before her.

Nessy sighed, almost forgetting about the work piled up on her desk—left undone due to her procrastination. She always felt very lazy whenever she remembered she had paperwork to do, but energetic when it came to product launching, advertisement promotion, and anything involving showcasing her personality.

However, she really needed to take care of the paperwork now. There were so many papers to sign, documents to review, and all that. She felt so tired, but she had to attend to them—otherwise, the hair wash and shampoo wouldn't be launched on Monday, as planned.

'Huuuh,' she sighed inwardly, not wanting Geb to know she was really unwilling to attend to her desk. 'He might think I'm lazy,' she thought, wanting to give a good impression.

'Oh my goodness, what did he do to her? All her life, she had never thought of pleasing anyone except her dad, but here she was, anxious and eager to please a man,' she blushed at the thought.

She sluggishly walked to her desk and sat on her chair, pretending to show enthusiasm while averting her gaze from Geb.

Geb stared at her, amazed. Truly, if he couldn't read thoughts, he wouldn't have known she was really lazy to work or that she hated paperwork due to her position as CEO.

He knew she had a lot of work on her table and was sure she wasn't ready to tackle it, especially since she'd been preoccupied lately by his appearance in her life and the things that followed. But here they were—he was now the one urging her to fulfill her duties and job requirements, only to discover she really hated working. 'What a lazy consort!' he thought—not with disgust or hate, but with love and affection.

"Why don't I help finish it up, so we can go home together?" he offered, not wanting her to stress herself further or become more exhausted. Besides, she had just given him CPR and was already drained, not being strong enough after her earlier cry.

"Really? I mean, would you even know what to do? This is all official business, and I'm not sure if you're really into it, because you look like a model to me," she said, blushing.

Geb felt flattered. "I'll sure manage. Just tell me what to do, and I'll get on it," he said with an adorable smile.

"Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it," she smiled back. She handed him some files and said, "Please review them for me," with the best puppy eyes she could muster, but then realized and quickly added, "Can you review paperwork? You know it's too much to ask. Actually, just help me arrange them. I'll review later," feeling guilty for demanding so much from him.

"It's okay, baby. I'm fine, and like I said, I can manage. Just keep signing the documents you have at hand, and I'll review these papers. I'm sure we'll be done in no time. That's the magic of division of labor," he said with a smile, staring into her hazel eyes.

"Are you sure? I don't want to put you through a lot, you know," she said sadly.

"I'm fine. Stop worrying about me. I can do it, and it'll be fine," Geb replied, giving her a pat on the back.

"Okay then," she said, focusing all her interest on the documents left on her table. She picked up her pen and let out a sigh before getting to work.

She was so engrossed with the papers she had to look through and sign, including those requiring her own write-ups. In an hour and a half, beads of sweat dotted her forehead, and she looked pale and whitish.

Geb noticed immediately and stared at her. He had been reviewing the paperwork she'd given him, and with the help of his duplicated mind, it wasn't hard—he simply did whatever Nessy would do if she were the one, and it went just fine.

He kept stealing glances at her as she looked alluring, so engrossed in her work. Now his gaze fixed on her, not because he was admiring her—well, he had before—but because he was worried. Her face was turning white, she was sweating profusely, and her eyes blinked uncontrollably.

Immediately, he dumped the paperwork he'd been reviewing, stood up, and walked over to her.

"Nessy, are you okay?" he said, cupping her face.

Nessy looked up and gave him a sad smile. "I'm fine, Geb. I just need to use the bathroom, or maybe take a shower," she said, pulling his hands away from her cheeks. She stood and walked toward her restroom.

*Few minutes later*

Geb walked back and forth restlessly. He had an odd feeling he didn't want to ignore—a presence of darkness around him, like that of Aposis, making him uneasy. He had been waiting for Nessy since she entered the bathroom, but she still wasn't out.

"No, that's too long," he muttered, walking to the restroom door.

"Nessy," he called softly, "baby, are you done?" No reply. 'Strange,' he thought.

Growing impatient, he opened the door and walked in. Making his way to the bathroom, he opened it to see an almost naked Nessy.

She was tying a towel around her chest, standing by the bath. She looked at Geb and licked her lips. "Hi, baby," she said in the most seductive voice.

Geb swallowed hard. He knew she was very sexy but didn't expect her to be this gorgeous. Her light skin glittered from the bath she'd just taken. Her exposed long legs and bare shoulders were driving him mad.

"Hi… baby, what took you so long? You made me think the worst—like something bad had happened to you."

"No, Geb, I'm totally fine. In fact, the only thing that took me long was having a nice bath and getting dressed," she said, catwalking towards him, exposing her inner thigh as she raised the towel with her hands that creased it.

Geb felt lost. Was it just him, or was Nessy really seducing him? He knew she was innocent, but what he didn't understand was why she was seducing him. Did she really want this, or was he manipulating her? No, he would never manipulate his Nessy, so this was actually what she wanted. But he still hesitated. Why? he asked himself. He shouldn't let this opportunity go to waste—was he a fool? He was just so confused.

She reached where he stood and drew him into a tight, warm hug. Seconds later, she pulled away and started caressing his chest. "You know I missed you so much, Geb," she said affectionately.

"Missed me? But you just left the office a few seconds ago," he said, still confused.

"Of course, Geb. I miss you every time—even the slightest minute apart causes me grief," she said, looking into his eyes but quickly averting her gaze as if she realized something.

Geb also saw something strange in her eyes—a sharp flash of darkness he'd felt earlier. Most of all, he no longer sensed her innocence. It was as if she were a whole new person.

Immediately, he cupped her face and forced her to look at him. He stared directly into her gray orbs. "Baby, are you okay?" he asked, confusion still in his voice as he studied her eyes.

"I'm fine, Geb. In fact, I'm more than fine. I'm just tired and need to rest. Can we just go home?" she said all in one breath.

Geb didn't push further. He pecked her forehead and excused her to get dressed...
