Harris grabbed a glass of water and moved near the huddled crowd. He moved the glass near Kay but said nothing.
"Thank you!" said Kay and patted Journee's back. "Jo! Jo! Drink this!" But Journee didn't move.
Archer grabbed the glass with one hand and with the other hand softly caressed her hair. "Jo! You need to drink this. Please. You will feel better." Journee lifted her head slowly and, with red, tear-filled, swollen eyes, looked at Archer. His heart made a loud shattering sound and broke into a million pieces. Journee was crying; she was hurting, and he didn't like that. He knew she had panic attacks when she would see her father or Kay getting hurt. But why was she now wailing and crying? Why did it hurt her that the Hall family took a shot at him?
