Kay looked at Journee with pity. He never wanted Journee to kill someone. But Zachary had killed her whole family, and just now he killed a little girl right before her. Not only that, but he also kidnapped her father. God knew where Theo took William. She could not save William or the girl, so she settled on hurting Zachary. And a sure way of hurting Zachary was to kill his son, Zion.
The nagging questions in Journee's brain quieted down. Zion's eyes widened with shock, and he fell on the ground like a frozen log. The saliva from his mouth started dropping on the floor drop by drop. But faster was his blood. It started pooling around his body and slowly made its way near Journee's feet. But she didn't mind that sticky, warm liquid. In fact, it warmed her heart. She had enough of playing defence. Now, if Zachary would kill someone close to her, she would kill someone close to him.
