Shiro was running through the forest, her steps hopping every one in a while to jump through a portal to avoid incoming danger. Her goal was the white crystal structures that branched out and lit up their surroundings.
From what she had observed previously. The strong beasts prowling the area did not dare enter the range of the crystal's light. If they could just reach one of the branches, they would be able to rest.
The territory within the mountain cradle was massive, but one of the glowing crystal branches soon came into few after around an hour of portal jumping. It was during this time that a pained ground reached Shiro's ears. Rune shifted in her arms as his eyes began to flutter open, and she quickly try to calm his nerves.
"Try not move," she said. She jumped down from a rocky overhang onto a path of crystal below and set him down gently.
"Where are we?" Rune asked.
"Somewhere safe. For whatever reason, the beasts don't come near these areas."
