BlackOut arrived at her lab with Alexander and Xanny. She sat on her desk and sighed, smiling.
"What a way to traumatize them.." - Xanny commented.
"Yes.. But BlackOut.. Or should I say.. Evie. How did you come to be?" - Alexander said, turning to BlackOut.
"Don't call me by that name, or I swear I will kill you." - BlackOut stood up, walking up to him, her eyes glowing in a darker shade of purple, filling her hands with corruption.
Alexander then grabbed her by the throat and lifted her up, while his scleras and pupils turned dark, with black mist around them, saying: "You dare to threaten the god of the kind you despise.. Bold, I must say. But your powers do not affect me. I assume you're also triggered by the name "Lucas"?"
She growled and grabbed his arm in which he was choking her with, seeing that the corruption didn't take effect. He let go, turning back to normal, with BlackOut dropping to the ground, gasping for air.
"Fuck.. Haah.. You wanna know about my past so damn bad, huh? Fine.. Perk your ears up, because I won't repeat it." - She said, gritting her teeth, standing up slowly.
She cleaned her outfit and started speaking.
- 20 years ago, in Redsity -
Evanora was in a heated battle against a villain. It was their second mission in Redsity. Lucas, her classmate and crush, was supposed to capture them along with her.
She was injured and didn't have time to heal herself before the villain started approaching them, and she said: "L-Lucas.. If we don't make it out alive.. I just want to let you know I love you.."
Lucas looked at her while keeping his guard up and replied: "I'm sorry, Evie.. I don't really think I know how I feel about you.. This is not the best time either."
"Evie" was the nickname Lucas had given her ever since they met. They were friends and always were there for each other. Evanora had taken a liking to him even before the missions started, but never told him out of fear. But once she told him and got rejected.. Her mind was a mess.
Her emotions got the best of her and she ended up blasting the villain, killing them and Lucas in the process. She held her head and teared up, not knowing what she had done. Once she looked up, she froze.
Two corpses. It wasn't according to plan.
Nicholas, the principal, and Evanora's teachers soon came to the scene, witnessing her doings.
"I.. It was an accident.. I-I didn't mean to-" - She tried to explain herself.
"Silence. Evanora LightSky, you are hereby expelled from Redsity Academy." - The principal, who was Nicholas' and Evanora's uncle, gave her her bag and belongings, bringing Lucas' corpse with him, back to the Academy.
She put her belongings in her bag, along with her spell book. She gripped the bag strap and ran into the forest. Soon enough though, she grew tired and started walking. She was lost but it didn't matter. She wanted something to help her in the near future.
She soon found a book protected by a barrier. A spell book. She looked confused yet curious, saying: "A spell book..? In the middle of nowhere?"
She approached it slowly and started casting a spell to break the barrier. Once the barrier was broken, she looked at the book, which was on a book holder made of wood. She didn't know whether to take it or leave it alone but something within her told her to keep it, so she carefully held it in her hands, looking at the cover.
"Forgotten Rituals" was the name of it.
She opened it and her eyes felt heavy. She said: "What's.. Happening..?"
She fell to the ground unconscious.
Meanwhile, in her headspace.. Evanora looked around and stood up slowly, rubbing her eyes. She couldn't move and sensed someone close to her.
"Well then.. Someone messed with something they shouldn't have.." - It was her voice, but in a mischievous tone. Evanora looked to her left and saw it. A woman, her body was one with the dark purple magic, but soon bursted out of it. Her eyes were purple, her skin was corrupted, and her outfit was somewhat revealing - "It's time someone puts you out of your misery for a while. I'll handle the rest from here."
As soon as the strange being spoke, it resurfaced in the body Evanora inhabited, and the body became conscious, with its skin getting corrupted from opening the book. It got up slowly, and smiled, saying: "Time to get us a new home."
After creating the lab that it's present self inhabits, it started going deeper into the forest, collecting resources to create more spells. It then saw two kids run into the forest and stopped them by making them float, saying: "Okay, what happened? You kids look frightened.."
"W-We lost our home-! I lost control over my powers and caused our home to burn down..! Please help us miss..?" - The little girl spoke.
"Either BlackOut or Evanora works.. Hold on tight."
The kids held onto BlackOut and she teleported to the Redsity Academy entrance, and cast a spell on herself, where only the kids would be able to see her, no one else at the academy, saying: "Call for someone at this gate.. Someone should give you shelter. What are your names?"
"My name is Fyriana, my brother's name is Lynx..!" - Fyriana spoke.
"Well then.. Fyriana, a word of advice. Never let your emotions get the best of you in stressful situations. It will only be your downfall." - BlackOut smiled gently, hugging both kids and then teleporting away.
- Back to the Present -
BlackOut then noticed one of her eyes was now brown. She looked annoyed, while Alexander said: "Huh.. So you formed after the "Forgotten Rituals" book was opened. That's one of the most dangerous spell books in Redsity.."
"It's not like I didn't warn her." - BlackOut said, trying not to stab her own eye out, because of remembering her own past, along with Evanora's.
"But you didn't!" - Evanora's voice resurfaced as an hologram appeared above BlackOut's hand, Evanora's essence could be seen.
"Too late to warn you now?" - BlackOut smirked.
"Oh shut up.. You were supposed to help me!" - Evanora complained at BlackOut.
"Yeah yeah, don't worry honey.." - BlackOut hit the body's hand and made the hologram disappear, she then facepalmed and groaned.
