Tuanzi happily prepared snacks and juice for herself before climbing onto the bus with her little backpack.
She was filled with anticipation all the way there.
"Will there be squirrels? The squirrels on the Mountain never want to be friends with us.
She thought of the clever monkeys, "Being friends with monkeys wouldn't be bad either."
This anticipation disappeared completely once she saw the zoo animals.
The little girl stood outside the cage, her gaze vacant.
"Is this really a lion?"
She had seen lions in documentaries; they were majestic. But the lion in the cage was emaciated and sickly, not to mention its filthy fur.
Upon closer inspection, the ground was dirty as well.
Nevertheless, the zoo had quite a number of visitors, who were happily taking photos.
When going to see the monkeys, it was the same.
They were relatively thin, filthy, and lazy, not even bothering to glance at the visitors.
Tuanzi was not too happy, pouting as she went to see her two older brothers.
