Chapter 168 - X2-170: The infinite building!!

The year was 2068, on this day 17-year-old Kaito Fushiguro and Jacob Clark would be walking down a sidewalk in their school uniforms. "Gah!" Kaito would take out a cigarette. "Why'd we have to go do this!?" Kaito groaned. Jacob sighed, "Because, Touma, Hanami, and Abarame have class right now…" Jacob said. Kaito took out a lighter, flicking it open. Kaito lit her cigarette, taking a puff. They then arrived at a blocked-off apartment building in the lower levels of the 13 district. "I'll take the first three floors, you take the last three…" Jacob said. Kaito looked at Jacob in shock, "W-We're splitting up!?" Kaito shouted. Jacob sighed, "It's a six-story building, it'll take too long if we stay together…" Jacob said. The two entered the run-down apartment complex pulling out flashlights. Kaito walked up the stairs to the fourth floor. There were multiple doors to the side. She checked every room, all of them. Empty. She went through the fifth floor. Still, nothing. She walked up. the stairs to the 6th's floor, checking every room and corner, when she heard a noise from above her. She looked up at the ceiling, seeing dust slowly fall. She sprinted out of the door. She ran toward the stairs leading to the roof exit. She ran up the stairs toward the door. She pushed open the door running out. She opened her eyes, noticing she was in another hallway. She looked around slightly confused, "J-Jacob!?" Kaito shouted. Jacob walked out of the room with a confused look on his face, "What're you doing..?" Jacob asked. Kaito stood there, looking at Jacob in shock. "Why're you on the 1st floor still?" Jacob asked. Kaito then sprinted up the stairs, coming out of a door on the 1st floor. "What the hell…" Jacob said. Kaito looked at the front door. "Wait, Fushiguro…" Jacob said. Kaito then sprinted toward the door running out. She then came running out of another room. Jacob and Kaito looked at each other in shock. "It's the murder's zai ability…" Jacob said. Kaito nodded, "They don't want us getting out of the building…" Kaito said. Jacob nodded, "So, what's the plan..?" Kaito asked. Jacob sat down on the staircase, "We wait for help." Jacob said. Kaito looked at Jacob with a straight face. It was silent. Jacob looked at Kaito, "What..?" Jacob asked. Kaito began to squint looking at Jacob. "Are you seriously depending on that red-haired lightning-wielding squirt. . ?" Kaito asked. Jacob squinted back at Kaito, "We're the same age…" Jacob said. Kaito hit him on top of the head. "Shut up!" Kaito shouted. Kaito rubbed her chin, "Hmm… How do we get the hell out of here…" Kaito thought to herself. She looked at the stairs. "Hey, Clark…" Kaito said. Jacob looked up at Kaito in confusion. "What..?" Jacob asked. She pulled something out of her belt. She handed it to Jacob. He took off the wrapping seeing the knife. "We're going to run up the opposite side of the stairs. When you get to the end, stab the air with your knife." Kaito said. Jacob looked at Kaito in confusion. "You realize we'll destroy the building by doing that…" Jacob said. Kaito and Jacob both glared at the stares. "In three…" Kaito said. Their eyes squinted. "Two…" Jacob counted. Kaito pulled out her knife. "ONE!!" The two shouted in unison. Kaito ran upstairs while Jacob ran downstairs. As Kaito approached the door, the blade of her knife began jumping with sparks. She reached the door slamming it open. The knife then looked as if it were piercing the air in front of her. The air around her knife then exploded. A man in dark clothes stood across from her on the roof. Kaito ran toward the man before she suddenly appeared back in the same place she was in before. Kaito looked around in shock. The man took one step forward, appearing behind Kaito. He held her knife, putting it to her neck. "Pocket dimensions…" Kaito said. The man nodded, "Surprised you figured it out that quick. Usually, it takes normal people a minute or two…" The man said. Kaito's teeth ground, "Don't try anything, or I'll slice your head off…" The man said. The building then began to rumble. "What the hell are you doin'..!?" The man asked, bringing the knife closer to Kaito's neck. Kaito rolled her eyes, "So god damn annoying…" Kaito said. Lightning then appeared crawling on the roof. "What the hell!?" The man looked confused. A chuckle was then heard. "Are you really losing to this weakling..?" A voice said. Kaito had an annoyed look on her face. "I'm not losing!! Idiot!!" Kaito shouted. The person started laughing hard, "Haha ha ha… God, I was just making a little joke…" The person said. He cleared his throat, "Though… This weakling is kind of a loser…" The person said. Dark raid messy hair flowed in the wind. Lightning would be sticking around said hair. This person had black sunglasses on, with an unzipped majority bright red jacket with black areas, black pants, and a white t-shirt with white Nike sneakers. He smirked widely, and his light red eyes glowed. "I'll beat this guy in an instant…" Haruto Touma said.
