The royal banquet had just begun when Franz sensed something was amiss. In the serene Royal Palace, an ominous aura pervaded the atmosphere.
"Who allowed you to barge in here?"

Upon seeing the guards enter the venue, the major nobles erupted in anger. Some of the more hot-tempered nobles even kicked them on the spot.
The chaotic scene further inflamed Caesar IV's temper. A carefully plotted coup was not something to be played with and ruined in this manner.
"Silence!"
"We've just received a confidential report that an assassin has infiltrated the banquet. The Palace Guard is merely here to hunt down the assassin. Please bear with us."
Duke Newfoundland immediately jumped in to save the situation.
Those present at the banquet were all influential nobles within the Empire. If they were all offended, even a successful coup would lose its meaning.
