As Zach stared at the battlefield with eyes filled with confusion and frustration he wondered where it had all gone wrong. At what point did he make a mistake? A mistake so catastrophic it caused a war between two magical kingdoms.
Zach raised his head to gaze at the giant moon hung high in the sky with other similar but smaller moons orbiting around it. as Zach was gazing at the moons he started walking forward at a leisurely pace. Not caring for the screams of anger and anguish around him from fallen soldiers.
at one point a fireball was shot in his direction but was stopped just in front of him by a thin see-through shield.
Zach never averted his eyes from the moons as he walked deeper into the battlefield. Wondering.
When Zach reached the middle of the battlefield, unhurt with not a single scratch on him, he stopped.
Zach moved his head down and started to observe his surroundings.
"So many wars, so many deaths, and for what?
For treasures? For pleasure? or for the satisfaction of knowing that you won and no one could have stopped you."
Zach murmured.
"The human race is a disappointment, it needs to grow stronger to face the future threats to our world. They need to band together under one common goal. Its the only way for them to grow. I know it will break our agreement but this can not continue."
As Zach said so he raised both his arms to the air and started to chant.
While chanting Zach started to float upwards away from the battlefield taking place around him.
When he was done chanting, three magical circles made of golden light with runes etched on them surrounded him. One above, one beneath and one on his level.
Zach paused for a moment to look down upon the battlefield with a hint of sorrow.
Why did it have to come to this.
"I Zach, The Gatekeeper. Hearby open all the gates to test the wits and strength of humanity as one. With this test there will be deaths and kingdoms will turn to ash. But from those ashes a new era will arrive, an era no one has ever witnessed. An era with powerful enough people to fight the future threats of this world. Or at least i hope so." The last of Zach's speech was silently muttered under his breath.
The giant circles of light started to shine and expand until all three turned into shockwaves that traveled the earth to open the gates hidden from prying eyes.
At the same time. Outragous roars traveled across the planet as figure after figure of illusionary copy's started to appear at the place where Zach was hovering. The 7 illusionary copies that appeared all wore luxurious clothes and each with a crown on top of their heads.
once they had finished their teleportation magic Zach was already gone. Disapearing with the wind, under the moonlights that shone through the sky.
one of the illusions started to scream with rage.
"YOU DAMN GATEKEEPER, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!!"
another soon followed, "What does he hope to gain from this? opening the gates will only cause a massacre, even if all nine of us try to help."
What followed were curses thrown around until all seven that were present went back to their own place of residence.
There was a lot to do and no time to waste on pointless bickering.

At one of the biggest mountain ranges, in the highest mountain on the planet, a big blue gate started to appear. It started out as a dot in an empty space but soon expanded in size until it simultaneously touched the ground and ceiling of the cave. The gate started to spin faster and faster until a roar echoud out that shook the mountain as a huge claw reached out with a gush of fire.

Deep in a rain forest. A gate that looked excatly the same as the one on the mountain appeared, and started to expand until a branch shot out from within it. The branch annihilated all the monsters surrounding the gate in a 5km radius.

Deep under the ocean, In the desert, the sky.
Gates were opening everywhere, as a catastrophe began unfolding for the human race.
