Somewhere in the past
There was a crashing sound after a body hit the cold marbled floor. There were several cuts on her already black and blue skin. She tried to sit up but pain shot through her entire body. She looked down to see her arm dangling again.
She was getting used to the pain. That was for sure. But internal pain was different. Somehow she managed to sit up and leaned her back against the wall. She took several deep breaths trying to assess herself.
She lifted her uninjured arm and pressed the upper left side of her ribcage, no pain, when she put pressure on the right side, a hiss of pain came out of her lips. The question was if it was fractured or broken.
She hoped that it was simply fractured, a broken rib would not bode well at this point. They had been married for a year, and she had been in the hospital twice. Both from a fracture and a broken bone. She was yet to heal from the one she got on her feet. She doesn't need another one.
