Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 Disaster? Something More Deadly is Coming!

As the countdown ended, all the survivors switched their game panels to the announcement board.

The words displayed on it left them all in collective silence and astonishment.

"Snow disaster? No way."

Lin Yue found that his mouth seemed to have some sort of prophetic power.

He had previously thought about the possibility of a snow disaster, and it actually happened.

He opened the group panel and looked over there again, finding that everyone inside had fallen into a frenzy of celebration.

"Oh sh*t, now there's water, those water-selling profiteers can go to hell!"

"Haha, Lin, I'm talking about you, you sly Tang Country person, let's see how you gouge people this time!"

"Exactly, just now he wanted to use 100 milliliters of water to buy my bread, I told him off."

"I already traded one, what a loss, profiteers should die miserably. I think surviving on urine for four more days isn't impossible, once you get used to the taste it's not unbearable."

"Come, come, Old Eight will teach everyone a filtering method to minimize the taste of urine. First, pinch your nose..."

"Snow disaster? People near the equator are overjoyed. Can we eat the snow?"

"Unfortunately, the shelters are too far apart, otherwise we could have a global snowball fight.

"

"As expected, this is just a game, how could it snow in this scorching weather."

...

Lin Yue silently watched the screen, then silently closed the panel.

Snow disaster.

Did not expect the first disaster, this game already threw in a tough one.

He felt the scorching heat in the air, still found it hard to imagine that in such at least thirty degrees weather, a disaster called a snow disaster would arrive in four days.

As for the criticisms from people in the group, Lin Yue didn't care much.

There'll be a time when you'll be crying and begging me.

He was actually puzzled by these people's blind optimism.

Cheering as if winning a lottery, some even wanting to eat snow, or have snowball fights.

Did they not consider the other adverse factors that would appear during a snow disaster?

The extreme cold that a snow disaster brings is the most terrifying thing.

Lin Yue remembered when he was eight years old, he got beaten by the orphanage director for talking back, he felt wronged and couldn't stay there any longer, so he took the chance to escape that night.

And it happened to snow heavily that night, he walked the streets for hours, and in the end, when he was freezing and helpless, he thought of the Eskimo igloo, made a big snowball by the roadside, dug a hole and crawled in to keep warm, if a passerby hadn't found him, he would have almost frozen to death inside.

Thinking back, going to KFC or McDonald's to make it through the night would have been nothing.

However, the biggest impact that night had on Lin Yue was making him understand how terrifying snow can be.

That bone-piercing cold and prolonged low temperature can easily take a life!

Lin Yue stood up and touched the wall.

Even in such high temperatures, it still maintained an icy touch.

What if a snowstorm happened outside?

If nothing is done, he thought there would definitely be frozen corpses inside this shelter in four days.

Lin Yue thought about various ways to keep warm, and unknowingly fell asleep.

But the world did not fall into silence along with him entering a sweet dream.

Countless people scattered across the desert, grasslands, mining areas, basins, riverbanks, and forests in shelters found it hard to close their eyes.

Some were still tormented by thirst, becoming extremely weak, unable to sleep;

Some were so unbearably hungry they even started eating the meat of mutant creatures;

Some set up traps, armed with weapons, continuously fought mutant creatures, hoping to find any box that could aid their survival;

Some chopped trees and mined, frantically collecting resources as if tireless...

This night was an absolutely torturous day for almost everyone.

Yet, at the same time, they expressed optimism about the impending disaster, at least they wouldn't have to worry about water for now.

The premise being that they survive to the seventh day!

...

One night passed.

After rubbing his eyes, Lin Yue woke up and stretched hugely.

After three days, he was slowly getting accustomed to the pace here.

No electronic devices, and practically nothing related to technology, waking up naturally without an alarm was just a perfectly normal thing for Lin Yue.

He opened the stone door, a gush of fresh air came rushing into the room, and Lin Yue, equipped with a round wooden shield and Iron Spear, cautiously tested the surroundings as always before heading out.

In this environment filled with mutant creatures, who knows what dangers might be encountered.

A surprise attack isn't unlikely.

A familiar stench wafted into his nostrils, and Lin Yue looked around, finally stopping at the back of the house.

Another large pile of indescribable things, exactly the same as before.

Moreover, there were more, like a small mountain.

Lin Yue frowned.

Something's wrong.

Wasn't the mutant sheep that came over and defecated before already dealt with by him? Why are there these excreta again?

Could there be more?

Lin Yue recalled the faint black dots he had seen in the distance earlier.

His nerves instantly tensed, warily scanning the surroundings.

The wind in the desert was slightly stronger than yesterday.

But in the wind, Lin Yue heard some mixed clamor, and this noise was intermittent, definitely not the sound originally present on the desert.

He swallowed, moving to the shelter's main entrance.

For some reason, he sensed a hint of danger.

This was an instinctive reaction cultivated after battling mutant creatures dozens of times over the past few days.

Quickly pulling out a ladder to get onto the roof, Lin Yue soon saw the source of the noises.

Seven mutant sheep, each hidden in slightly higher patches of grass tens of meters away, watching this direction intently!

Lin Yue gasped.

If he hadn't meticulously checked, and just started cooking like yesterday...

The consequences would have been unimaginable!

Clutching the Iron Spear in his hand, Lin Yue was also secretly amazed.

These mutant sheep actually moved in groups and could ambush in the grass at this time, truly not simple mutated creatures.

This mutated creature seemed quite intelligent, if he weren't standing at a high vantage point, there was absolutely no way he would have discovered them.

So, what should he do next?

Should he go down and hide in the shelter awaiting their departure, or...

However, just then, as one mutant sheep stood up and looked toward his position, standing up instead of hiding, all the other mutant sheep stood up following suit.

They all looked up at Lin Yue and approached the shelter step by step.

Lin Yue began to regret not having a bow, but...

For long-distance attacks, there seemed to be another option?
