"What is... that?"
Lin Yue was holding his Iron Spear, ready to strike at the Mutant Sheep that were gradually approaching. However, the thing that emerged from the strange noise in the woods made him pause.
A strange building appeared after the dispersal of a white light mist, accompanied by a strange buzzing sound.
He could vaguely see that it seemed to be an ancient wooden door wrapped in dilapidated bricks and stones, surrounded by lingering white mist that refused to dissipate.
He understood clearly that this door did not belong to this Desert and had never existed before.
Looking down at the Mutant Sheep, he noticed they seemed completely indifferent to the Ancient Gate. The one closest was now only six or seven meters away from the Shelter.
The other Mutant Sheep also drew much closer.
While the Ancient Gate intrigued Lin Yue, he knew that he had to deal with the present threat first if he wanted to take a look.
Tightening his grip on the Iron Spear, Lin Yue pretended to keep an eye on the Ancient Gate while waiting for the nearest one to get close enough.
And he didn't have to wait too long.
The Mutant Sheep were indeed too attracted by the Mutant Sheep meat he had thrown, and as the one got closer, Lin Yue knew the moment had arrived.
He suddenly turned and stood up, letting out a loud shout as the Iron Spear in his hand transformed into a silver flash, much like a shooting star!
"Gwaaa!" A miserable cry followed immediately!
The Iron Spear sliced through the soft belly of the Mutant Sheep, its sharp blade instantly cutting it open, and in the next second, a large amount of blood gushed out, causing the heavy intestines to drop to the ground.
The other Mutant Sheep, witnessing this sudden turn of events, froze for a moment, but when they saw an Iron Axe whizzing through the air toward them, they immediately turned and fled into the distance!
A moment ago, the situation had been extremely dangerous for Lin Yue, but with the retreat of four Mutant Sheep, it changed instantly.
Lin Yue panted heavily, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
He didn't know exactly how terrifying or powerful these fang-bearing Mutant Sheep were, but he did not want to experience being besieged by seven of these massive Mutant creatures again.
If he hadn't climbed onto the rooftop in time, and had hidden inside the house instead, who knew what might have happened?
Maybe he would have been besieged by these fierce monsters until a snowstorm came and the food ran out.
Standing on the rooftop, Lin Yue confirmed that the four Mutant Sheep had become mere black dots on the horizon, before descending the ladder and turning to the Shelter to retrieve his spare Iron Spear to give a quick end to the two heavily wounded Mutant Sheep that hadn't left yet.
He suddenly heard a cracking sound coming from the direction of the table.
Lin Yue looked up and saw the egg of the Mutant creature on the table cracking open like parched earth.
Crack, crack.
The sound of breaking grew more rapid, and the cracks widened.
Crack!
With the final snap, the egg shell split in half!
"Pip!"
Lin Yue heard a small chirping sound and saw a tiny white creature emerging from the center of the broken shell.
A pair of eyes, like Rubies, quietly stared at Lin Yue, its body covered with fine scales that emitted a silvery-white light, like snow.
"Is this... a lizard?"
The tip of Lin Yue's Iron Spear lowered slowly as the appearance of this little white creature stirred something in his heart for some reason.
"It seems rather cute?"
Lin Yue approached, teasing it with a long piece of dried grass. The little creature playfully grabbed the end of the grass with its tiny paws, while its big eyes remained fixed on Lin Yue's face.
"Including the tail, it's about 18 centimeters." Lin Yue estimated from experience and quickly concluded.
"Pip?" The little creature tilted its head and seemed to make a noise as if it understood something.
But, such a large egg hatched just such a tiny little lizard?
Lin Yue had expected it to yield something as ferocious as the Mutant Sheep outside.
"So, should I turn it into a treasure chest or..."
Just then, a game panel suddenly appeared in front of Lin Yue.

What's going on here?
Ice Lizard? Cold Breath? Lifebound Talent? Why is everything suddenly moving in an entirely unknown direction?
However...
Lin Yue looked back at the little white lizard.
"Pip?" It tilted its head again and stuck out a pink tongue.
Well, showing cuteness, are you?
Upon reconsideration, if raising a pet could aid in adventure, wouldn't it be worthwhile?
Moreover, this little one doesn't seem like it would eat much food, does it?
There is quite a bit of food in stock.
And...
Lin Yue listened to the noises outside; the two Mutant Sheep were still bleating painfully.
They could provide quite a bit of meat... Can this little creature eat meat too?
After pondering for a while, Lin Yue glanced back at the little lizard.
"All right, one more won't hurt. You'll be called... uh, Little White then."
As someone bad at naming, Lin Yue admitted he couldn't think of too many good names.
"Pip!" The Little Ice Lizard seemed to really like the name, crawling around happily while keeping its eyes on Lin Yue.
"Okay, as long as you like it, then next..."
"Pip, pip!" Little White clung tightly to the straw, directly crawling onto Lin Yue's hand, looking quite pleased.
