People in business, who isn't a bit scheming?
Amos Smith's eyes were full of triumph after achieving his goal.
After eating, Bertha Haines automatically took on the task of washing the dishes and went into the kitchen with the plates.
Amos Smith leaned against the doorway, watching the young girl roll up her sleeves, put on an apron, and expertly start washing the dishes. He suddenly felt a sense of peace and tranquility.
In the future, with a couple more kids in the house, it would be even better.
"Isn't there a dishwasher right there?"
Amos came over, bent slightly, and hugged her from behind.
"It's bad for your hands to wash like this."
Bertha was startled and turned to look at the man behind her, explaining softly.
"I'm not used to using that. You... Stop messing around; let me finish washing these."
Bertha felt that this man was deliberately making trouble. With him making a fuss, how could she wash the dishes? Finally, she simply wriggled out of his arms.
