Mike pulled out his chair and walked far enough where everyone could see him. He went on his knees and placed his hand together.
"Mike!" Grace jolted up in shock.
"I know I'm just a doctor, and I'm not worthy of your daughter, Mr Smith. I have even neglected her in the past. I didn't notice her love for me and went ahead and foolishly married another woman." Mike started off with tears trickling down his eyes.
"That is why I'm willing to make things right. I love Grace so much. More than I can express, and she means everything to me. So I'm begging you Madam Rebecca, Mr and Mrs Smith, Chris and of course Jane, because you are now the lady of the house." Mike's voice trembled as he spoke.
"I'm asking for Grace's hand in marriage. Please grant me." Mike said with his head bowed and tears escaped from Grace's eyes.
Grace ran to Mike and hugged him right there. She pulled him up and brought him to his feet. She wiped the tears off his eyes while she was crying as well.
"I love you, Grace. I've always loved you, and I will continue to love you if you let me." Mike proffessed his love to her and helped her wipe her tears off as well.
"I love you too." Grace said and Mike slammed his lips on hers without thinking. He couldn't control his emotions anymore. He doesn't give a damn about the consequences so he's just going to do what he feels the hell like doing.
"Uhmm you are not allowed to kiss my sister until you marry her. At least wait till the invitation card is printed out." Chris said and separated them both.
"Exactly, you have not even gone down on your knees yet Mike. I can't see any ring either." Kyle added.
"Make sure to bring some flowers as well when you are about to do the official proposal." Jane added.
"And buy some jewellery, my daughter loves jewellery." Williams said.
"And I have to be at this wedding. I already missed the wedding of one grandchild, I can't miss another one." Madam Rebecca said and Whitney could not help but cry.
She's happy and sad at the same time. She's happy because she's sure that her children were brought up with so much love and care. Their grandparents, father, staff, and what's more? They had each other.
Her heart was filled with gratitude for that. And now her children are getting married for love, something she wanted and couldn't have.
But she's sad because she didn't get to watch them grow up. Even in this happy moment, she can't really share it with them because they have no idea she's their mother.
"Is that a yes from everyone?" Mike looked up in hope.
"Of course Mike, welcome to the family." Chris said and shook Mike's hand. Jane stood up and hugged Grace and it was such a happy and fun moment for everyone.
"And remind me to speak with my lawyer. We have to get Patricia to sign the divorce papers whether she likes it or not. She has already delayed my sister's happiness for so long, and I won't let her do it any longer." Chris vowed.
"Besides, she's an obsessed parasite. I don't want her close to my wife or family." Chris said, and everyone agreed with him. Chris still can't get over the chills he felt when he heard everything that Patricia did because of him She must be really crazy to go that far.
"Where is she by the way? Wasn't she just here?" Cassie asked, and everyone's attention was brought to it.
"She left. At least she has some sense, unlike Angel, who doesn't know when to stop." Madam Rebecca commented, and everyone laughed.
The rest of the evening went well. Everyone ate their food. The lovelies won't stop touching and stealing glances at each other.
Madam Rebecca was so pleased with the sight, especially seeing her son with Whitney whom he had loved for many years. The only person who was upset was Maria. But she didn't dare to sulk.
She needs to pretend to be cool. That way, no one would suspect her. She looked over at Grace, who was giggling happily. She's going to be the bait she will use.
"Grace, why don't we go shopping tomorrow? I feel bad for the way we have been fighting these past few days. I want us to put everything behind us." Maria made sure to wear a sorry face as she spoke so she would appear pitiful.
Whitney rolled her eyes. She knows all of this is nothing but act and
"And so I can explain everything to you, maybe then you would understand that I did what I did back then, because I love your father very much." she cried, and Grace shook her head.
As much as she tries to feel pity for her. She can't see herself doing it. She can't deny the fact that she feels emotionally detached from her all of a sudden.
"I'm sorry mom, would have loved to come with you. But I already made plans. Chris, Jane, Cassie, Jack, Mike, the kids, and I are going out tomorrow." Grace said.
"We've not spent time with the kids much lately due to everything that has been happening, and we want to make up for it. I hope you can understand." Grace added.
"Of course that's fine, we can always go shopping another day. After all, you are my daughter and no one else's, " Maria said, and Whitney knew exactly what she was playing at.
Everyone retired to their rooms after dinner, and the kids slept in their room with Thelma taking care of them.
Cassie and Jack took a shower together and began kissing each other from there.
"So Jane and I are doing this double dating thing. I'm sure she and Mr Smith are having sex right now. So we are supposed to do the same thing, and from the look of things. Grace and the doctor might join in." Cassie informed Jack.
"What!" Jack glared. He can't imagine his sister having sex. Even though she's married, she's still his sister.
"Don't be such a kill joy. Just kiss me already, we've not made love in forever." Cassie said.
"I was waiting for you to be ready." Jack said.
"I'm always ready for you, even right now." Cassie said.
"Under the shower?" Jack's eyes almost popped out.
"Under the shower." Cassie replied and sealed it with a kiss.
