"Well that only makes sense. She was the one who was with you all through the time you gave birth. It's only right that she knows something about it. Are you going to ask her?" Grace asked Jane shook her head.
"I don't think she's going to tell the truth. I have asked her several times about my birth story, and she keeps telling me the same thing. She won't even tell me where she got the money to pay for the hospital bills." Jane sighed in frustration.
"And you don't think she has some money put away somewhere?" Grace asked, trying to make up different excuses. She refuses to believe that Mrs Whitney would be capable of doing something bad to Jane's child.
"No that cannot be it. We didn't make much from selling milk, that's why I had to get a job." Jane countered.
"Or…. Could it be that the little girl passed and she didn't feel the need to tell you about the twin so you don't get upset. Look at this way. You just woke up in a coma. I would do the same, so you don't get upset." Grace said and Jane slumped on the floor.
"Are you trying to say that my baby might have died?" Jane asked Grace as tears streamed down her eyes.
"It's the only reasonable explanation Jane. Mrs Whitney adores both you and my nephew. I don't think she would have done anything bad to the baby. Whatever happened and why she kept it from you, must have been to protect you." Grace said and quickly hugged Jane who couldn't say anything.
"Oh Jane please don't do this yourself. We are going to find out what happened to the baby, but till then. I need you to pretend like nothing happened." Grace began.
"You just got married to the love of your life despite all the obstacles. You have your family with you, your friends, and everything else is in such a great place." Grace continued and pulled Jane into a hug.
"I know this new information hurts, but we should not let it rule us. Please, Jane, just be a little more patient." Grace said, and Jane sniffed back the tears in her eyes.
"Do you need me to get my brother?" Grace asked, and Jane shook her head.
"No! Don't do that, I plan on telling him everything that happened tonight." Jane said.
"I'm sure Chris will understand and love you even more. You don't need to be afraid." Grace said, and Jane smiled.
"I know that, Grace. I can't believe how much he loves me. And I love him so much as well that I feel my heart is going to burst open." Jane giggled.
"I hope I will be able to say the same thing for myself soon. Mike is planning on divorcing Patricia. He wants to be with me and would like to do it the right way." Grace said and Jane took Grace's hands.
"I see the way he looks at you. I see the way his eyes lit up whenever you walk into the room. He's head over heels in love with you, and everything will fall into place." Jane patted her palm.
"Just the way it happened with Chris and I, don't let doubt creep into your heart. Just go with the flow." Jane concluded, and Grace hugged her.
"You are the best sister in law and friend ever." Grace said, and they both laughed.
"I'm sorry, but can I join in. I'm starting to grow jealous." Cassie popped into the room and said. She met Mike a while ago, and he told her Jane was with Grace. She came here and heard them talking.
She decided to let them finish and not interrupt. She heard everything Jane said to Grace, and that gave her some assurance about Jack.
"Of course, Cassie, please come in. You are more than welcome into my room, anytime you please." Grace said and pulled Cassie to the floor. The three of them hugged each other and giggled excitedly.
"So tell me, Cassie, what do you plan on doing?" Grace asked, and Cassie looked at Jane, who nodded at her.
"I used to be a night dancer until I met Jack. I'm not doing anything at the moment, but I've always wanted to be an actress. Actually, that was a dream of Jane and I." Cassie explained.
"Well you both have come to the right place. You are speaking with the most popular and rated actress in the country." Grace introduced, and Cassie was really excited.
"As soon as we are done with the whole dad and mom issue. And I also sort myself out with Mike. All three of us will be attending auditions. How does that sound?" Grace asked, and Cassie jumped up in excitement.
"Really?" Jane asked, and Grace nodded her head.
"Of course, well, that is if my brother has not impregnated you by then. He seems to keep his hand off you. Same as you, Jack is smitten by you." Grace said, and they both blushed.
"We can say the same thing for you. The doctor hovers around you like he's your shadow." Cassie said, and Grace felt embarrassed.
"Well! We haven't gone there yet. Besides, I have never done it with anyone." Grace said, and both girls screamed.
"What!"
"No way!"
"Shhh!! You two bring your voice down. What is wrong with you?" Grace glared at them jokingly.
"Are you saying that the heiress to the Smith Empire and the most rated and popular actress in this country has never been laid?" Cassie asked, and Grace nodded with her palm over her face.
"Does the doctor know this?" Cassie asked.
"Well we have never spoken about it." Grace replied.
"Mike is such a lucky man. I can imagine how your first night is going to be." Jane said.
"You both need to stop." Grace stood up and ran off to the bathroom. The girls followed after her laughing.
"Tell us when you are about to do it. Jane and I will give you advises. I'm an expert, and Jane is married, so trust me, we know best." Cassie said.
"Both of you are crazy!" Grace yelled.
"It's the most magical thing when you do it with the man you love. My wedding night was fantastic, Chris was so gentle and raw at the same time." Jane said and Cassie giggled.
"Took all the bad experiences out of my head. Now I can't wait for tonight, so I can run back into his arms and make love to him again. I want to feel his soft lips on mine and the way he touches me…" Jane continued.
"Enough! Jane, that's my brother. Stop it." Grace said, her entire face red.
"Well she's not wrong. In the past, I only had sex for money or to satisfy my customers. But with Jack, it was a totally different experience. We made love, and it was the best nightlife of my night. And guess what? We are going to do it again tonight." Cassie giggled.
"Then it's a double date…" Jane said.
"Or we can make it a triple date if Grace is willing to join in." Cassie said, and Grace ran out of the bathroom.
"What!" Grace exclaimed.
