Later that night, everywhere was calm with everyone in their respective rooms. Christopher had gone to do some work, as his father is unavailable to do anything. He had to fill in for him and sign some papers.
"Hey my love." Jane heard Christopher's voice and smiled to her ear. She turned to look at him and he grabbed her. He kissed her on the lips and then the kiss a little bit hungry.
They kissed each other for a while and Chris swooned Jane into his hands.
"I missed you terribly. I couldn't even wait to finish the paperwork. I can't wait to have you tonight." Chris said and continued to kiss her.
"You should complete your work. It's not okay for you to be here when you are supposed to be working." Jane scolded him.
"You are mistaken, I'm supposed to be here with my wife. I just got married, and I'm supposed to be on my freaking honeymoon and not the other way round." He complained.
"Now don't be a baby and go to work. I have to go meet up with cassie. We have a lot of things to catch up on. You don't have to worry, I'm all yours at night." Jane said and Chris could not help but smile up to his ear.
"Is that a promise?" Chris asked and Jane leaned forward and kissed him.
"I promise you my love." She said to him.
"Also I asked Jack to have our things moved to the mansion. With all the things happening, I think we should be here and not at the villa. Is that okay with you?" Jane asked.
"Nope, it's not okay with me because I would love to spend all my time with my wife. But you are right, we should be here to support our family. And besides you are the new queen of this family, you should take charge." Chris said and kissed her.
"Well that's settled. I will see you at dinner." Jane said and kissed him back. She quickly ran out of the room before he pins her down.
Jane headed downstairs and found Thelma and the other girls cleaning. Immediately, they spotted her. They stopped what they were doing and bowed their heads to her.
"Oh please don't be silly. You don't have to do that to me." Jane said.
"What do you mean? You are now our boss, and our lives are in your hands, and you can do whatever you like. I knew there was something going on with you two. Come on, Jane, tell us everything." Thelma said and quickly switched, making Jane laugh.
"I just made the boss laugh, I'm definitely getting a salary raise this month." Thelma said and pulled Jane to the kitchen. The other girls followed as well. They want to hear everything.
"Estella!" Jane called.
"Jane… Oh I'm sorry, Mrs Smith. Is there something you would like?" Estella asked politely.
"Oh Estella, don't be like that. I'm still the same old Jane you all know. You don't have to treat me any differently." Jane corrected them and Estella came forward and patted her back.
"My sweet girl, I understand that you are very humble and this is just how you are. But one thing you must understand is that, you are no longer the same." Estella said to me.
"Things are no longer the same. You have changed now. You are now Chris's wife and the lady of the house. You have to live your new life, and embrace it. So I'm sorry, but we will not address you the same anymore." Estella said and the other maids nodded their head in agreement.
Jane heaved a deep sigh seeing their minds are made up and they are bent on treating her differently.
"Fine! But I still refuse to be the typical arrogant boss lady." Jane said and Estella smiled at her. Jane noticed Thelma was titling her head and wondered what could be wrong with her.
She followed the direction of her sight and noticed that she was trying to tell her about Tessy, who remained glued to the refrigerator.
Jane's lips curved up in a smile. She can already tell what Thelma is thinking.
"I'm not sure I have seen Tessy ever since I arrived yesterday. Is there any reason for that?" Jane asked, making sure her voice was a bit higher.
Tessy heard her name and almost fell like passing out. She tugged down at her gown in frustration and wished she could get swallowed up by the floor immediately.
"I'm sure you heard what I said, Tessy." Jane said, and tessy turned her head, looking all gloomy.
"I'm sorry, but I didn't see you come in." Tessy said with head below her shoulders. She didn't dare to look at her face. She was too embarrassed.
"Excuse me, Tessy. But maybe I need to spell it out to you. I'm Mrs Smith and the new lady of this house. Whenever you address me, it's either Mrs Smith or Ma'am to you. Is that understandstood?" Jane asked, and Tessy felt tears at the corner of her eyes.
She murmured some words and sunk her head lower.
"I didn't get that. What did you say?" Jane asked.
"Yes ma'am," Tessy replied.
"Good! You can leave now." Jane said, and Tessy walked out of the kitchen hurriedly, almost running.
The minute she left, Thelma and the other girls burst into laughter. Estella joined them and eventually Jane as well.
She knew she didn't have to be so petty, but she needed to put Tessy in her place. She deserved every bit of that.
"That was so good." Thelma said and burst into another round of laughter.
"Did you see that? She was going to pass out. I enjoyed every bit of that." Jane added.
"What's going on here?" Cassie came into the kitchen and asked. She has been so bored up there alone in the bedroom. Plus Jack left her alone to go get some work done, so she was all by herself.
"Cassie! You are here, I was coming to get you." Jane said.
"Same here, I've been bored to death." She concured.
"I'm sorry Estella, but I won't be able to join you and cook. You would have to go on without me. I have a lot of catching up to do with my friend." Jane apologised.
"It's okay ma'am, we can carry on from here on our own. Please go ahead." Estella said and bowed her head. Jane nodded her head and walked out of the kitchen dragging Cassie along.
"Is this your room?" Jane asked.
"Yes, this is where Jack and I will be staying for a while. That's what he said." Cassie said.
"Well I love that my friend got my former room and I love it even more that you are with me now." Jane said getting emotional.
"I'm glad that I found you too. Now tell me everything that happened. How did you have a son that big? I've been thinking about it all day." Cassie confessed.
"That night after you left, a man came and forced himself on me." Jane recalled in tears.
