A few minutes ago…
Blue lightning crackled around Max, emphasizing his power.
An incredibly beautiful red-haired lady who wore a cloak slightly frowned. 'He's immune to my charms, I guess I have to go the other way'.
Suddenly, a fan appeared in her hand. "Let's see just how worth it you are boy!"
The woman swung her fan and made a huge gust of wind, causing the rubble on the ground to swirl around and rush towards Max.
Dodging one of them, Max's eyes grew cold as his body instantly turned into lightning.
BOOM!
The sound of cackling electricity resounded in the dorm area.
He used his speed, ramming into her, to knock her back against a wall. Max didn't stop moving after a single strike,

Max moved extremely close to the woman and pointed his index finger and middle finger at her. Two bolts of lightning instantly shot out towards her at blank point range.
"Naïve!"
The woman suddenly teleported behind Max and brandished her fan like a knife.
"..Huh?!"
Her fan phased right through his body. She made space between them in shock and analysed what happened for a second.
"...Harmonization!"
Her eyes widened.
Harmonization was a skill that allowed the user to temporarily change their state into their respective element.
Only those with high affinities to elemental abilities.
Of course that wasn't the only requirement. The ability itself needed to be capable of affecting a body.
Thus, a genius with a flamethrower ability wouldn't be able to elementalize, but a genius with a fire armour ability would.
Even then, it was still difficult to learn, and it had a lot of drawbacks so people generally refrained from using it as much.
Max had used the Harmonization to turn into lightning, which saved him from her attack.
Her frown slowly became stoic, trying to restrict a smile from within.
'One of its biggest drawbacks was it's mana consumption. He shouldn't even be able to use it at G rank, but eitherway, he should be running low by now'
Max rushed at her, pointing his making his finger into a gun sign again.

"Same skill? Do you only have one?"
She easily sidestepped the attack and swung down with her fans.
Max activated Harmonization again, causing her attack to miss, but this time things went differently.
'..Shit-' She dropped one of the fans mid swing, aiming for his head.
'The second disadvantage of Harmonization was when you fully harmonize.. you become blind'
There was a way to deal with this problem, but it wasn't something Max would know.
Therefore, in order to react to subsequent moves, he'd leave his head harmonized, which was exactly where she was planning on striking.
Bam!
"Kuh!" An arc of blood dyed the floor as it followed Max's body which flew like a plane, straight into a wall. "I may not have an elemental ability, but I can still kill you easily".
The third disadvantage, anyone who had learnt Harmonization, could make contact with others of his own.
Max quickly sat up and grabbed a weapon from his inventory.
The system screen looked strange, foreign. It was the complete opposite of the system the world was given. It wasnt blue, instead, it glowed menacingly red.
'Equinox!' A monstrous aura was emitted from the saber, it's design being a battle of white and black.
The woman looked at the sword with slight interest.
'Only D+ rank, yet its evolvable. How is he holding it though? He's only G- rank. Interesting, maybe I can make it mine.'
The aura from the blade didn't seem to affect the lady even a bit, and she dashed forwards with her fan.
"There's something special about you that I just can't point out"
Max's body suddenly multiplied in power and a crescent appeared from his slash, almost matching the speed of the woman.
"Slow!" The woman suddenly sped up, becoming a blur.
"I may be the weakest of the five, but don't even think of being able to beat me!"
'Crap!'
He ducked halfway into his step, evading the wind pressure from the fans. Behind him, a deep gash appeared in the wall.
Max released another shot of lightning towards her before he spoke in annoyance.
"You talk a lot. It's annoying"
The woman paid no attention to his words and rather seemed slightly stunned seeing him shoot another bolt.
"How much mana do you have, aren't you G- rank!?"
The woman suddenly remembered she was short on time, and spoke again.
"I don't like this ability, it makes me ugly, but you made me use it. So prepare yourself"

Max blocked two of the sudden hits with the flat side of the blade, but the third one got through and pierced his shoulder.
"Gkh!"
The woman still stood in the same position as before. What was different was her hair, it had turned into sharp blades which were extremely lethal.
Max held onto the hair, trying to pull it out, when the piece he grasped erupted into spikes, immediately impaling his hand.
Max's face paled drastically from the large amounts of blood he was losing, his grip on the hair slowly became weaker.
'There's something else...poison?'
His vision became murky, and his legs grew weak.
The woman suddenly grabbed a gun out of thin air and pointed it at his head.
Max could feel the danger, but his legs didn't respond, rather they collapsed onto the ground.
"Checkmate"

The area laid in waste, purple flames and rocks littered the area, and in the center of the mess, stood two people.
Alice was still, suspended midair due to black rods impaling her body from all sides. A person with a feminine figure raised a gun and pointed it at Alice's head.
"Pathetic".
Bang!
[DING]
[UNKNOWN OBJECT FOUND, EXPEL THE OBJECT?]
Alice hung on the border of death and was unable to see the message.

The figure removed their cloak, showing her short black hair with zero makeup and only her natural face, yet, she was still a beauty.
She seemed to be about the same age as Alice.
"I expect more next time." With that the woman put her hood back on and vanished.

The atmosphere cracked soon after her disappearance and broke within a few seconds. Alice laid in the center, devoid of wounds, and the area had no signs of battle.
Her hazy eyes looked around seeing the place undamaged.
'It was an illusion'

Max's eyes became white.
"So that's why you people are here"
A choking voice came from behind the woman.
"Who?!"
The woman turned and attacked with her hair, but nobody was there. When she looked back at Max, a white haired beauty had her hand on his shoulder wound.
"Hey, boy. I need you to hang in there"
A coating of ice covered the wound, also slowing down the spread of the poison.

The orb fell out of his head, into her hand.
The fan woman didn't move. She could tell her enemy was stronger than her.
"Are you a faculty member?"
The ice cold woman helped Max to his feet.
"I'm the Head Of Finance"
"Tch"
'In order to come to earth, we had to restrict out power and lower all of us to D rank. But the faculty members...only got lowered to C'
Max's eyes slowly gained clarity. It wasn't stable, but it was better than before. Now that the poison had slowed down it gave his body time to actually fight it.
"Boy"
Max heard the ice woman's raspy voice.
"Here. Swallow this"
From what he heard he knew she was on his side, so he took the orb she passed to him and opened his mouth.
"I cant let you do that"
An uncountable number of her hair strands reached for Max, but a simple hand movement from the ice woman put all of them to a stop.
"Don't worry, just take it"
The hair stands were all frozen in place.
"Are you sure you're on the same side of the other person I fought? You're far too weak."
The fan woman could feel a vein popping in her head.
'Fuck!! Why do I have such awful luck!'
She grabbed the gun again and pulled out the magazine. It was empty.
'No more shots'
Max saw the notifications flooding his system, and his eyes slowly widened.
"They can steal talen-"
"We'll talk about it later"
The ice woman interrupted him.
The fan woman sighed and raised her hands in defeat.
"You destroyed the orb, so theres no reason for me to be here anymore."
"Wait, stop her-"
Max tried to shoot her figure that was vanishing, but the ice woman grabbed his hand.
"Stop"
The space fluctuation she felt, it wasn't from the woman. Someone had teleported her away, and that person, was strong.
The ice woman glanced at Max's tattered body. "You can rest now. They're gone"
Max looked at where the woman was just a second ago before giving a large breath of relief before collapsing onto the bare ground…
