The duo quickly reached the door but then a pungent smell abruptly hit their noses, and since they had awakened, their perceptiveness was much better than that of a normal human. "What's that smell?? Did something bad happen?" Alice asked Alex as she squinted his eyes he remained silent for a while before he spoke, "I think that's urine and… blood".
The duo suddenly became serious as they slowly opened the doors but the sight to be witnessed here would be much more gruesome than what the two of them did. Here, there were pools of blood, surrounding a single being that had a mountain of flesh and bones surrounding it. Out of the many tens of thousands of people who used to be there, not even a thousand of them were to be seen, the survivors could be seen huddled up in different corners, weeping for either their horrible fates or that of their loved ones who had already succumbed to theirs… The figure was covered by an astonishing amount of many kinds of organs.
Crunching sounds could be heard as the figure burped in satisfaction, but then suddenly, a special blood-red marking appeared at the back of the figure's hand, glowing menacingly.
Suddenly, the figure turned towards them in an instant, that very instant, Alex had a vision of the figure appearing before him and throwing a punch at him, instantly decimating him. Alex suddenly shouted at the top of his lungs with a weird cry as he pushed Alice away, preparing to receive the blow head on. The figure smiled at this, before the distance between them was closed in less than a second, immediately, Alex took a defensive posture, but seeing a fist that looked like it was bigger than his whole body, Alex's face paled when he felt the pressure from the fist even before it him. Suddenly, Alex pondered, 'Why did I push Alice away, I could've just let her die, after all she has [Survivor]… Wait a minute, [Survivor]!!'

The figure punched and a massive boom sounded, after the dust cleared, half a body could be seen standing in from of a mass of destruction, everything behind him had been decimated, sparing nothing of any kind. The place was quiet as Alice's face was blank as she looked forward at the destruction a single fist from the figure caused. The figure whose body could now be properly seen and identified as a he pouted in disappointment over the fact that the boy had died so quickly.
"Oi, Subaru, it's time for us to go, if we keep on staying here we'll start falling behind the others" A hooded boy spoke as he entered through a door at a different entrance along with a blue haired girl who gasped at the destruction the overweight giant had caused. "Subaru not hungry…Subaru full…Subaru ready to go!" Suddenly, when Subaru started walking over towards them, a burst of steam erupted from Alex's corpse as his body started reforming, faster than the eye could see. "Hey bigshot,I'm back from the dead." Alex talked as he turned his sights towards Alice, but then his eyes suddenly widened as he dashed towards her yelling, "Alice, get out of the way!!!!!!"
In that instant, the blue haired girl who had mysteriously appeared behind Alice, who knows when, smiled as she muttered "Burn", Alice whom by now had realized something was wrong immediately turned around while retreating quickly at the same time, but, it was too late…
"Mmph!!!!" A small sound sounded across the gymnasium as Alice tried to bear the pain of her right arm which had been set ablaze, she clenched her teeth to prevent herself from screaming. The girl raised her eyebrows in surprise, "That some good instincts, you managed to make the fire burn your arm instead of your whole body, unfortunately for you, the poison in the fire is still enough to kill you, haha." 'Damn it! I need water!!' Alex yelled in his mind as he thought of splashing water on her arm, suddenly, the arm he had stretched out to pull Alice away sprayed a large stream of water to extinguish the purple flame, but then a metal shield suddenly appeared blocking the water.
'Shit, I forgot about the hooded guy!!' Alex turned his head looking for him and saw the blue haired girl had already returned to the hooded guy's side, 'Wait a minute, where's the gian-'. Bang! Alex lost control of his body for a split second as his body suddenly adopted a defensive posture and a pillar of earth rose and defended Alex from most of the power of Subaru's sudden punch but even after that, Alex flew like a kite a landed in the walls coughing up an alarming amount of blood, but even then, he was more confused at what happened earlier.

Alex looked at the trio who were conversing about if he should be killed or not, and he used the chance to find out how his power worked.
He slowly imagined himself becoming one with darkness, moving through shadows, and slowly, his finger became black. Alex smirked as he caught their attention, "Hey…." The trio looked at him each with different looks, one of hunger, one of disdain and one of lust. "...Fuck you…" With that his body became ethereal as he passed through the rods, falling into his own shadow. The hooded man's face was that of shock, which instantly became rage after a second of processing,
"That fucker!!! I'll kill him!!"
The girl and giant just looked at each other before shrugging it off...
"Hello fuckers, and goodbye fuckers" Alex suddenly came out of Alice's shadow, taking her body while not wasting the chance to insult them as he did so. "Destroy all the light sources, he won't be able to run then!!" The trio quickly destroyed all the bulbs in a matter of seconds but the girl's fire on Alice's body gave him enough time to escape.

Two figures suddenly came out of a shadow which laid on a random roof. Alex splashed a stream of water to extinguish the fire still actively burning Alice 'System, how much mana do I have?' Alex wheezed as he clenched his heart in pain

"The girl from earlier mentioned something about poison being in her fire, that purple tint may be the poison she spoke about… Even if my arm is brought back, I'll still die. You have to kill me, because when I revive, my body will be in prime condition, without any poison. Alex looked at her for a second before she nodded his head, but then a notification appeared, blocking his vision

"Helloooo???Alex?" Alice leaned in close and tilted her head before she poked one of his cheeks as she spoke, "What are you thinking about so deeply?"
Alex, who was now roused from his thoughts, looked at her for split second in a daze before he spoke, "Alice, don't do that, it's inappropriate."
"Since when did you care about appropriate?" Alice smirked as she kept on poking his cheek. Alex looked at her confusedly as he talked with a hint of suspicion in his tone, "And how exactly do you know if I care about it?" His tone became more suspicious the more he talked, in response Alice started sweating as she quickly changed the subject, "J-j just kill me and let's get it over with."
Alex squinted his eyes for a second before he just sighed and started trying to make the image of her shadow turning into an icicle, stabbing her from behind. 'I should have enough by now for one use plus it's easy to tell that it takes more mana to create than just manipulate, so why not do this?' Immediately after, a small black icicle formed from Alice's shadow.
Pu-chi! With a sound of flesh being skewered, Alice watched as a long pointed black icicle struck through her back, carrying her heart through her chest directly before her own face. The color in her eyes quickly dimmed as her body slowly became limp, pale and lifeless. The icicle disintegrated and her body fell onto the floor... Alex looked in silence before walking up to the body, counting how long it would take, but then a burst of stem appeared seemingly out of nowhere, obstructing his vision.
Alice slowly walked out of the steam as Alex put his hand on his chin, muttering "10 seconds" Alice walked up to the very edge of the building before looking down at what had become of the peaceful city before speaking in a slightly melancholic tone, "It might be too late for this city…" "We can raid the police station for weapons, but first, I need to recover my mana" Alex, who was never attached to the city spoke as he sat down before questioning the system.

Alex just sighed before he beckoned the system to open his inventory, grabbing two cores out of it, he scrutinized them carefully to make sure the system didn't lie and immediately after, he received a notification.

Alex's shook his head slightly in disappointment at the little information revealed when he inspected her, but he quickly moved on. He held the core with the intent to absorb its mana and it quickly came rushing into Alex's own core. Strangely, Alex felt like what he did was natural, as if he had done it may times before, "Hurry up before someone gets there before us!" Alice yelled as she tried to memorize the layout of the city which she scrutinized while Alex was having his inner dialogue. "Yeah-yeah, I'm about done." Alex said, watching the core crumble to dust and fade away, blown away by the wind…
After Alex had begun descending, Alice held a small necklace which seemed to be incomplete and sighed. She recalled some memories while taking out stroking the necklace and said with a bitter voice, "So you really don't remember me, Alex."
