Chapter 8 - Episode 8 – "Reality Checks and Shared Delusions"

[Scene: Alvira's hostel room, late night. Dim yellow light, a small desk cluttered with books, post-it notes, and a hidden journal. She flips through pages filled with dates, scribbles, and lyrics.]

Narration (Alvira's thoughts):

"Every page is a piece of my heart he'll never read. But writing makes it real. Writing is how I bleed quietly."

[Her phone buzzes. It's a message from Zaina.]

Zaina (text):

> "Girl, he's live again. Don't tell me you're already watching in silence."

Alvira (texting back):

> "I've been watching for 8 mins. He smiled at 3:42. I swear it felt like he smiled at me."

[Phone dings. Yasmine joins the group chat.]

Yasmine (text):

> "I KNOW RIGHT? He's wearing that grey hoodie again. Our comfort idol."

Zaina (text):

> "You both need a digital intervention. 😑"

[Scene shift: Next morning, classroom. The girls sit together. A serious lecture is ongoing. Professor is scribbling mechanisms on the board.]

Professor:

"…and thus, glycolysis starts in the cytoplasm—"

[Zaina nudges Alvira under the desk, whispering.]

Zaina:

"You stayed up again, didn't you?"

Alvira (half-asleep):

"Yeah… but it wasn't just him live. I was writing too. Another letter."

Yasmine (leaning in):

"Another one? Do you even read them later?"

Alvira:

"No. I seal them. As if they're real. Like one day he'll read them all in one go… and understand everything."

Zaina (softly):

"Alvi… I know it feels real. But don't lose yourself, okay?"

Alvira (half-smiling):

"Too late. I think I already did."

[Scene: Afternoon. Rooftop of college. The three girls eating lunch, wind blowing hair messily. Alvira pulls out a small notebook.]

Yasmine:

"What's that?"

Alvira:

"My 'If I ever meet him' list. Things I'd say."

Zaina:

"Lemme guess. Starts with Assalamu Alaikum oppa?"

[They laugh.]

Alvira:

"No. Actually, it starts with… 'Do you ever feel completely alone even when everyone's cheering for you?'"

[They fall silent for a moment.]

Yasmine (gently):

"He'd cry if he heard that."

Zaina (cautiously):

"Alvi… but you know right? These are 'what-ifs'. He lives in a world we're not even allowed to walk into."

Alvira (looking away):

"I know. But maybe I was never meant to walk into it… Maybe he's meant to walk out of it."

[Scene shift: Hostel corridor. Zaina and Yasmine walking back after evening study hours.]

Zaina:

"She's getting in too deep, Yas."

Yasmine:

"I know. But also… she's not harming anyone. It's just pure love. She doesn't even think impure things."

Zaina:

"I'm scared it'll break her someday. She's planning her life around a boy who doesn't know she exists."

Yasmine:

"That's why we're here. To cushion the fall if it happens."

[Scene: Alvira alone in prayer. Her voice is trembling.]

Alvira (in dua):

"Ya Allah… you see what's in my heart. If this love is not good for my deen, my future, my akhirah… take it away. But if it's something You placed for a reason… guide me with sabr. Let it be for You."

[She cries silently. No music. Just silence and sincerity.]

[Scene: College courtyard. Students walking in groups. A boy passes by and slows near Alvira.]

Boy:

"Hey… um. You dropped this?"

Alvira:

"Oh-uh, thanks."

[He smiles, trying to make eye contact. She just nods and walks past.]

Yasmine (watching nearby):

"Girl. That boy was checking you out. You didn't even flinch."

Alvira (shrugs):

"My heart's already full. No space left."

[Scene: Back in the hostel room. Alvira takes out a box from under her bed. Inside: fan letters, concert flyers, a prayer journal, printed screenshots of his VLive moments.]

Narration (Alvira's thoughts):

"People say I'm delusional. But they don't see the tahajjud tears. They don't see how I've never crossed a line. How I've kept it all between me and Allah. They don't understand… this isn't just obsession. This is sabr. This is love redefined."

[Scene: Phone notification. Zaina texts a quote.]

Zaina (text):

> "The heart is a vessel. Fill it with Allah first. Everything else will fall into place."

Alvira (smiling, replying):

> "Trying, Za. Every single day."
