She was awakened by the warm light brushing through her skin. She slowly opened her eyes, and then flinched because the sun's brightness was blinding.
Her head throbbed from pain when she forced herself to sit on the bed. She looked around and realized she was in their bedroom.
She knew she fainted when the amulet consumed her energy after talking to Zuriel, and the last thing she saw was Thane's face.
"You're awake."
Thane was on the couch, drinking some wine. Elisia frowned, trying to see if he found something about her conversation with Zuriel.
He stood up and walked toward her. Her eyes followed him. Every step he made, her heart pounded and fluttered. Why did he look so dazzling? Elisia but her lips and averted her eyes to hide her admiration toward him.
Thane slightly smiled. He was amused seeing her blush. He admit she was beautiful and enchanting. Maybe that was one of the reasons she could easily deceive someone, including her siblings.
