Chapter 29 - Chapter 28: HIS POV (13-14)

(Ch: 13)

I park the car and undo my seatbelt.

"Woah, it's enormous." She mumbles.

She looks around. "Where is she?"

"Don't worry she'll be around here." I offered my arm, waiting for her to hold it.

She gives me the side eye and steps away.

It almost made me smile. "You should stick to me, what if you get lost?" I tease her.

"It'd be better if I got lost than be with you." She mumbles again.

As we stepped in a bunch of cockroaches gathered around me.

God, what's their problem?

I glance at my side and she already left. Wow, she couldn't wait?

Oh. Maybe she was jealous.

After getting out of this swarm, I walk around looking for her. She must be around here.

Uh-han, look at this. She's standing alone, looking like a stranded human on a island.

I reach and stop behind her before leaning down. "Feeling lonely?"

"Ah!" She yelps turning around.

"You scared me. My heart almost stopped." She breathes out before looking up at me.

I feel like I am the Eiffel Tower next to her.

"Is it because I scared you or because you saw me?" I fix my tie.

"Same thing you're no different from a ghost."

I grab her hand and start walking.

"I told you to not touch me." She wiggles her hand.

"Then should I tie you with a rope and lead you around?"

"What?!"

"Relax, i'm joking." I stop, turn around and tilt my head, raising my eyebrows. "If you want to then—"

"Shut up!"

I bite my inner cheek. "Fine fine, let's go."

"Where?"

"A cage. I'm planning to keep you there forever." I say.

She looks at me as if i'm joking.

I'm not.

"Keep yourself locked in there." She says, a slight irritation in her voice.

"With you?" I grin.

She shuts her eyes and breathes out.

"Are you imagining it?" I lean a little close, my voice almost a whisper.

"SHUT UP!"

I smirk, after a few steps we reach upstairs.

(Ch: 14)

"Grandma this is Lia." I take a seat besides her.

"She's the one who is in your class?" Grandma smiles. "Well look at her she's so pretty."

I know.

She suddenly corrects her posture. "It's nice to meet you."

I can tell, she's nervous.

Who wouldn't be?

When I'm beside them?

I stare at her, she's definitely nervous because of me.

After a few minutes. "Excuse me." She gets up and walks away.

Look at her, running away. My aura was too strong, huh?

Nobody can handle your charm, Hazen.

"You like her?"

My head turns to grandma, my grin disappearing. "Like…? No."

She squints her eyes not believing me.

"No, grandma. I don't." I get up before she asks me another question.

"Why did you introduce her to me then?"

I freeze for a few seconds and clear my throat. "Well…because, she's my classmate." I stand beside the table.

"She's your only classmate?"

I look at grandma, no answers left in my genius mind.

I ran my hand through my hair and sighed. "I think…someone's calling me. I'll be back."

- Why didn't you answer that?

Answer what?

- The question.

I did.

- You brushed it off.

Oh shut up. You don't know anything.

- How can I not know? i'm your brain. Or will this situation be handled by my brother…heart?

What is wrong with me?

I'm having conversations with my thoughts?

I think i've gone crazy.

- This the first stage of love.

What! Love? Who's in love? What do you mean love? I don't believe in this fairytale shit.

As I walk I see her standing there alone, again. She suddenly walks faster like behind her and bumps into me.

This is an excuse to touch me.

She gasps immediately shutting her eyes, her hands in front of her ready to karate someone.

"I told you, you'll get lost." I say.

"Oh, Hazen." She sighs.

"Do you work for mafias?" I ask.

"Huh?" She looks up at me.

"Do you?"

"No."

"Then why do you always think someone will kidnap you?" I put my hands in my pockets.

"Do kidnappers only kidnap people that work for mafias?"

"Not really, but you always look so careful and you keep looking around as if you're planning to steal something." I tease her.

"What can I steal?" She mumbles.

"My heart." I mumble, without thinking.

- You definitely thought that.

"I don't like stealing." She says, looking away.

"You don't?" I say in a teasing tone.

She starts walking, I walk behind her.

"I don't and stop joking around."

She stops mid way and turns around, her face hitting my chest.

This was also a nice excuse to touch me. "You want a hug?"

Why do that? When she can just ask me?

She rolls her eyes, stepping back. "I wanted to ask you something."

"What?" I leaned back on a wall, crossing my arms.

"Why did you introduce me to your grandma?" She asks.

I also don't know.

- Should I tell you?

Shut up.

"Because she asked me to bring the most dumbest person to see how one looks and I couldn't think anyone dumber than you." I say, grinning.

She rolls her eyes again. "Can't you give me a straight answer for once?"

"It was a straight and a sincere answer." I say, acting serious.

"You're annoying."

I tilt my head. What else am I?

Is that all you think about me?

- I also think that about you.

Sigh

She takes one step ahead before looking back at me before walking away again.

I walk towards her again. "Do you like this mansion?"

"Why? are you gonna give it to me?"

"If you want to." I shrug.

"No thanks and I don't like it. It doesn't feel like a house, it's more like a labyrinth."

"You're not gonna ask who's is it?" I ask.

"No."

"It's mine." I say, proudly.

It isn't mine. Although I can buy it.

"I didn't ask."

Hm, maybe she likes modern houses.

"And how about my car?"

The car is mine.

"What about your car?"

"It's really expensive, It was imported here from Dubai." I flaunt.

She's not saying anything. She definitely liked it. "Are you shocked?"

She stops and looks at me. "Shock?"

"Yeah, when I tell girls about these things they're usually shocked."

"I don't see a reason to get shocked." She starts walking again.

"Why not? This mansion is 60 million and my car is 20 million." I say.

"Are you trying to show off?"

"I don't need to try."

"I am not interested."

Hah—she definitely is.

I hold her arm. "Let's go there." I start walking.

"No, let me go, I need to find Marina."

She can go to hell.

"Roof?" She says.

"Yes."

"Are you gonna push me down?"

"Is that what you want?" I answer with the same tone.

"Does it look like I want that?"

We reach on the rooftop and I walk towards the railing.

After a while she follows me. "Are you gonna ask me to help you hide a body?"

"You watch too much crime movies."

"I don't."

"Is that all you think about?"

"What?"

"Crimes and kidnapping…"

"I'm somwhere unknown and with an unknown someone, isn't it all that I should think about?"

"I'm unknown?" I look at her in disbelief.

She nods.

"I am your classmate." I turn to her.

"I know."

"Then how am I unknown?"

"Because I know nothing about you, just your name and age, doesn't that make you unknown?"

Aaa…I see, she wants to get to know me. "So you want to get to know me?" I grin.

"Did I say that?"

"Well, you practically did." That's what that means.

"It just sounded that way, I didn't mean that."

I scoff. She's denying it. Soon, she'll accept it.

"What time is it?" She asks.

"9:42"

"Huh?!" She gasps.

"What?"

Is it time for her to confess to me or what?

"I have to leave at 10."

"Why?"

"Because I have to."

"What are you, Cinderella?" I scoff.

She runs to the door and suddenly stops and slowly turns to me and smiles.

I knew it. She is about to confess—

"Can you drop me?" She asks

"Oh." I clear my throat.

Oh…she wants to confess in the car.

"I don't have anyone else to ask." She says.

I walk towards her. "Why don't you stay till 12 there's gonna be fireworks."

That would be a perfect time to confess.

"No, I can't."

"I can talk to your mom later if you want-"

"No!" She cuts me off.

"Tell her you are with your boyfriend." I suggest.

"What?! no! I am not allowed to date."

"Why?" I frown a little.

"Because I am not. Will you drop me or not?"

"Did you kill your ex?" I squint at her.

"Huh? Why do ask these sensless questions?"

"I don't know, I'm just thinking what could be the reason that you're not allowed to date." I say, shrugging.

"I never dated and I plan it to stay that way."

"So you will stay single forever?" I ask.

"I will straight up get married- are you gonna drop me?"

Oh? Already thinking about marriage?

I don't know if I'm ready for that yet.

"You asked me the same question three times already." I say.

"You don't answer. Will you drop-"

"Yes."

"Thanks. I have to look for Marina." She turns around.

"Do you have to?" I roll my eyes.

"Of course, she also has to leave now."

There's always a third weel around.

After a while, we walked towards the car.

My presence was too intimidating for both of them. That's why it was too silent.

I drop her bat looking like friend than I drive towards her house.

Now, we are alone.

Maybe now she'll say something.

I park in front of her house then look at her.

Come on, say it.

She unbuckles her seat belt and opens the door. "Thanks."

Door closes

Huh?

Just like that?

Just…thanks?

- Did you expect her to give you a thank you dance?

Ugh—

My head drops on the steering wheel.

Hours later, I lay on my bed staring at the ceiling.

Why couldn't she say it?

Was she scared?

Oh…she was shy, wasn't she?

It's ok, i'll give her some time.

She won't be able to resist me for too long.

After all, it's me we're talking about.
