Although Hill had long known that Mephistopheles had a great interest in Asmodeus... to be honest, he seemed more concerned with the Lord of Hell than even Bisozeya.
But to squat outside a small world, watching with relish for so many years...

Bear in mind, Asmodeus hasn't appeared in this world that often.
However, Hill could guess that the reason Mephistopheles chose to help Asmodeus intercept Lansendel was related to not wanting to reveal who he sent into this world.
He would rather be the muscle than expose Draculus.
As long as he could add a bit of trouble to Asmodeus's future, Mephistopheles would willingly endure humiliation.
