"What's with that sour puss?" Damien says to Ella in a jovial tone. She is pouting in awfully adorable manner and she looks younger than she should around five. Using her ability when she's depressed missing her new friend.
"Crayton is leaving with you and having mean uncle Rey stay with me and Lexa says I breathe too loud when I hang out with her while she works and that means only me and Cody can hang out when Rachels at her violin lesson and Annabeth hasn't called back all Cody wants to do is play video games and be stupid, stupid jerk" she says speaking a mile a minute.
"Hey, no name calling" Damien lightly scolds her. He leans in to give her hug Its been four months since the demigods left I'm officially 9 We get at least a weekly update from Luke Grover and Annabeth. Thalia did end up becoming a tree but the fight was a bit different then the way it was described in the books. Grover while he did fail to get his protector certification. He helped branch my company to a couple of green initiatives and now Shield has a few satyr's and nymphs in our ranks. A Satyr and nymph power couple Roger and Clary Sigerson's They have already reached level five inside of three months.
Well for the combat portion, we managed to get a Daughter of Hephaestus Carol and a son of Athena named Marco into our R and D department Malcolm Goode has taken them under his wing. I'm hoping they become my version of S.H.E.I.L.D. Fitz and Simmons. S.H.E.I.L.D. has grown remarkably well in the last 3 years in the last year we have quadrupled our size we have well over 20,000 in personnel spread over 40 countries A little over 250 safe houses, split between the countries at least 2 teams of 20 on call in all 40 countries we have personnel and those are just for response teams research and development, field agents, public outreach programs we had a large network of people all over the world.
In the countries we had the most influence we had small armies but in America where S.H.E.I.L.D. 5 main big facilities three that function as monitoring facilities and field offices. The other 2 of which are the academy training facilities one for the tech and R and D side and one for combat and espionage training. There are about 250 people that are Level 7 and those personnel have been given limited knowledge about the mogs. Though there were Exception's such as the demigods that Damien tagged as untrustworthy.
Amanda, Hector, Tomas and Kaitlyn were promoted to level 8 Onya Renne and Anastasia had been promoted to level 7. So far there were only 19 level 8's but since most of the level 8's were the cepan's and the head's of department the Loric Zophie, Janus, Ike, Mike, Amon and alexander duvo (The old man) were in charge of leading and picking the Level 7's. The level Seven's were now also being called captains. The level six's squad leaders usual lead level 3-5 were the teams that were under the command of squad leaders.There were even Level five's who led teams of fresh out of the academy Level 2-4 but they usually functioned as second in command to a level Six those few in charge of their own squad's usually rank up to level Six inside of six month if they perform well.
After the Sigerson's had a small information gathering operation trying to figure out how deep the mogs claws were into the UN Damien wanted to rank them up to level 7 straight through but The other department heads were limiting Uncle Swifts ability to rank up becuse they had sniffed out that we were keeping secrets from the Loric when we promoted Tomas to level 8 Even though Tomas had proven himself a capable Agent He was also only 16 though Damien Didn't have room to Judge he was only 9.
The information the sigerson's sent back wasn't much but helped narrow down a few founding mog pro members. Though they did hit a snag The mog pro people were on to S.H.I.E.L.D. but they believe it's just a rival organization or just a bunch of greedy politicians trying to stuff their pockets maybe anarchist bent on exposing government corruption He can't really fault them for that They don't see themselves as the bad guys to them mogs are benevolent hunting down criminals giving out advanced tech healing people.
Damien doesn't usually hop to alien overlord holding its strings but I do plan for them lead their own divisions one for satyr's and one for nymphs/dryads. We had a good number of demigods and out of the 150 that were in our ranks about 125 of them were roman of that 125 about half 80 of them were legacies and not like true half bloods and about 50 of the total were serving kronos. There were quite a few exceptionally gifted people. There was a daughter of Quirinus named Marge that was a natural born leader and combatant and a son of trivia named Trevor that was pretty gifted in magic I even learned they were definitely on their way to captain status probably before I went to Hogwarts.
The Greeks aren't as heavily influenced by kronos yet. Luke hasn't is probably going to go on his quest this summer. So he is still only sort of bitter at his father. Rachel is having a bit of trouble with her sight but much less then what is described in the fourth book since she knows that I can see monsters she knows that they cant really harm her since she is mortal so she's able to live with it mostly. Her father has kinda figured it was a phase so he isn't as over bearing and he isn't as against her being an advocate for the environment since his paycheck doesn't depend on development anymore.
"Crayton is only going with me and Uncle Simon for three Days. And ill be back next week. If you want I can make Cody do something you want to do rather than play videogames?" I ask her. Cody would complain a bit but he is starting to see Ella as an annoying little sister. He won't like it but her personality will force him out of his shell a bit I know he likes hanging out with me and reading comics and goofing off but he has to learn to socialize and interact with others. It's almost nature versus nurture his nature Is just inclined to introversion just like in the books its what made him an excellent spy.
I start tickling her until she laughing and give her a piggy back ride and make and sneak her a couple cookies and its like she flipped a switch not remembering what made her sad back to being her regular 7 year old self. Soon I'm sitting with Crayton and Uncle Simon in our private jet headed to England where a recon team currently has eyes on 2 who goes by Maggie.
From the pictures and reports she's the same age and she is a bit different from the others. Like the others do like she isn't trying to hide that much she has lived in the same place for four years and I think thats why they were growing overconfident enough to send a message to find the others. Honestly their forgery paperwork is ridiculously good it took a month for lexa to find a sign that it was fake. If they hadn't had the incident But I think her cepan overestimated the power of good forgery paperwork. Conrad her Cepan made no effort to hide her intelligence. she was a musical prodigy. Her love of books was Hermione level at least. She was on an extreme fast track for her education. Might throw up a few red flags but kind of similar with hiding in plain sight that number 9 was doing plus with so few people in their small irish town of cobh it's a port town with the second largest natural port in the world. Which would make their escape pretty easy if they were actually in danger well it would be if they had time to prepare. It's a long flight so I find myself dozing off as I go over the file for her cepan conrad. I mean the man has made sure to make no waves.
He owns a pub has few friends that he drinks with from time to time a waitress there he dates off and on again who also has son of her own. It seems he's gone to Adelina route deny and it'll go away but he throws himself in his work. He's built himself a nice beautiful slice of heaven there and maybe he can keep it this time around. Crayton is looking at the picture of Maggie with a conflicted face.
"what's wrong?" I ask. He looks up scratches the back of his head as if he's embarrassed.
"It's just she reminds me of someone from lorien. No one I knew personally but a semi famous songstress who used her leacies of sound and light manipulation in her performances. Her name was Devektra" He replied.
Instantly Sandor's back story pops into damiens head. Maggie could have been cousins or maybe Devektra was Maggie's aunt or cousin but it could add some structure to why Devektra was said to be so powerful in his story she came from a line of one of the elders. What does that mean does Loric have a more lineage Type power system and if that's the case could those with greater legacies have kids with more powerful legacies. This simple connection could inspire hundreds of projects to figure out how lorien functions with out exploiting it like one resident Loric mogodorian warlord.
