It's been Eight Months since Damien's birthday. During that eight months, A lot had happened. S.H.I.E.L.D. had grown to a level even Damien had not expected and had even distanced itself away from swift co. the projection's they had set to go public int two years had been thrown out the door and had already presented itself to The U.N knowing that Swift co. helped with the start-up of S.H.I.E.L.D. but once it went public a distinct relationship was established sort of like the relationship in the comics between Stark industries and the original S.H.I.E.L.D..
Damien and Simon had chosen a no-name politician named Robert Sheilds To be the Public face of S.H.I.E.L.D. He functioned as a level 8 with limited access he had been approached by Mogodorains and didn't trust them he didn't know much about the loric but he was deeply involved in strategies to counteract the mogs if necessary. He had his Faults the top of which was his vanity, A few Affairs, and A few morally questionable decisions that lead to his affiliation with the Old Man in his past which left him very malleable which was good for My Uncle and the other high level agents to help control him. There was a lot of debate between the Old man and Uncle Simon to trust him with the position But Uncle Simon eventually let him do it as in the six months he worked for S.H.E.I.L.D. showing himself to be more of an asset than a liability.
The only people who knew that Robert dyner was a figurehead were the level 8s and higher. Mike and Ike had Joined Clayton, Lexa and The Old man for level 9 clearance, We had 8 new members of the ranks of level 8's and 4 of which were loric, 2 which were close with Mike and Ike, one personally recruited by Amon and Malcolm Goode.
It took 7 months for The Old man to have eyes on every garde. Damien had Uncle Simon put out an Observation only order on them. We had spooked Katrina Number Six's Cepan Around four months ago. Leading her to Take off not giving us a chance to explain, But we soon found them again Crayton Lexa and Janus went to greet them and invite them to join S.H.I.E.L.D.. Though Katrina refused to join S.H.I.E.L.D. officially she did accept some of our help resources contingency plans new ID's and access to emergency response teams.
Damien and Simon had managed to track Sandor and Nine Pretty easily as they had already made their way to Chicago, Nine was cooler than his counterpart in the books not cocky sarcastic and funny, Older than Damien but still a kid. Sandor believed Damien about the future though he wouldn't let him tell nine what about the future though I had warned him about Maddy in the future. As long as they didn't get caught in traps and had contingencies in place they would be fine.
Though Damien was happy that Sandor decided to join S.H.I.E.L.D. it was a bit unexpected he was about the only loric that didn't need them in anyway he had invested his money well, he was well defended, other than manpower he was in a pretty good position.
They were Given a new safe house and Given new Identities a set of extraction routes and a number for a response team. Damien refrained from telling them their original future because Hilde had insisted on it. She didn't like that Damien had told One. Damien never truly convinced her he could see the future thinkng it was just a manipulative lie the only reason she stayed is because the safety and utility that our resources provided.
Even though Malcolm was a level 8 agent he was also head of head of R and D giving him the reach and priveledges of a level 9 agent. The Old Man functioned as head of Tracking and information gatherings. Lexa was officially given her title she was in charge of publicity and logistics. My Uncle Simon was in Charge of all Missions and Tactics.
The biggest issue that came to be was 5 months ago, Hilde had managed to convince a few of the High level agents Damien was to young to be head of a department though Simon, Lexa, Mike, and Ike stood up for him Lexa, The Old man, Clayton and Malcolm agreed. He didn't hold it against them Clayton saw him as Ella's big brother, The old man saw him as a little kid, Malcolm saw that he was the around the same age as his own son. Lexa defended me because she regularly worked with Damien on Loric Tech knowing how capable he was, Mike and Ike had Trained on and off with him ever since he had awkened his memories they knew exactly how terrifying he could be.
Hilde tried to use the same logic to justify Damien thrown out of the chain of command of S.H.I.E.L.D. altogether but thankfully The others turned that down so Damien still retained The appearance that he had the clearance of a level 8 agent but truly he had just as much access as his Uncle Simon the "sole" level 10 agent. Mostly the others voted in his favor since quite a few believed of his supposed prophetic gifts. If he had truly been kicked out of the chain of command S.H.I.E.L.D.'s growth would of probably been irreparably damaged since half of S.H.I.E.L.D. growth was linked to him. Uncle Simon was still CEO of Swift CO. he Couldn't handle the day to Day operation's of S.H.I.E.L.D..
Even though S.H.I.E.L.D. kept Damien busy he still had classes and spent time with Ella and Rachel who were growing up ridiculously fast. The night he had given Uncle Simon the Amphisbaena meat he noted that the meat gave a small permanent boost so he had He'd given both the girls Amphisbaena meat, they had small positive visual effects just like Uncle Simon.
From the status of Uncle Simon, it had given him a small boost in his healing factor, strength, and speed. Not to the level of wolverine not even the level of Captain America but a broken bone that would take month to heal would heal in about a week.
In pure stats he was now at the very pinnacle of Superhuman He could probably take on a few vat-born mogs and come out on top. Ella had learned about her Aeternus she loved messing with it but didn't like hiding it from Rachel. Damien had told Rachel That he could see the monsters too. Though they both had their own secrets they had grown so close, but they still hadn't chosen to tell each other. Damien Would probably help Rachel confess her secret by using misto kinesis to let Ella see what else is in the world once he trained it to the appropriate level.
His training with the books the last few months had gone amazingly well. Damien was able to Passably use The powers that all the Children of Nyx have(circadian control, Night Empowerment, Death sense, Sacred vocalist, and Umbra vision). Though He could use Umbra Vision, Circadian Control, and Sacred vocalist the best. He practiced Sacred Vocalist to speak to Stanly the two had become inseparable the last few months. Two months ago he started to Try the other gifts of the Children on Nyx. He had a range of Successes and Failures. For some gifts he guessed he just didn't have access to some he just didn't have enough control over his energy to use successfully.
Some came easier then others he could easily make the room cold when He Tried Cryokinesis. He had been able to use Intimidation Aura a few times but it only worked while he used his CryoKinesis. He was angry once when Hilde had said a mean-spirited comment about his Uncle. He had stormed off and He had managed to mix all three of fear empowerment, CryoKinesis and Intimidation aura.
Mike who had been waiting outside his door when Damien had thrown his little tantrum his fear absorbing it made Damien feel like he'd drank 16 cans of coke. He had even activated his eyes. Mike passed out in the hall Uncle Simon had seen the end of his little freakout Mike ended up in the hospital. Though it was touch and go for awhile after a few hours he was ok, In apology Damien had given Mike and Ike Amphisbaena meatand the power boost had won some brownie points but Mike still looked at Damien with a touch of Apprehension.
Damien could use Umbra kinesis, but it could only stretch his own shadow kind of like Shikamaru But He hadn't had any tactical advantage until He used It with other abilities like sending a spike of ice through where his shadow extended, or the ability he had the most progress in Somnokinesis.
He trained it discreetly with the Loric. It took Six months, but He could put he could put anyone to sleep as long as je touched them. He could use the ability in conjunction with his shadow kncocking them out, Though that still needed a close range. What he was really proud of was combining it with his hearth eyes ability.
Though it was less effective against those that weren't affiliated with the Greek and Roman gods when he used it in conjunction with his eye he amplified the effect still if the target was alert and had strong will power they could resist but even those strong willed it would cause them to freeze momentarily or hold their head in pain long enough for Damien to move into closer range. Another move he was trying to master was shooting his sword and small blades or ice through the shadows a feature of his sword was that he could command it to return though his aim left much to be desired he'd seen improvement. Plus using his cryokinesis to make the ice blades was slow and took a lot of energy.
The Mistokinesis book was helpful not only for It taught him about How to control The mist and create Illusions but it also told him how the monsters use the mist to smell demigods and how children and legacies of Hecate kind of passively distort that smell so that's why He Hadn't been attacked by monsters much.
That was probably the reason he had been attacked on the beach because the gods knew he'd be there but without a godly antenna it was hard for monsters to locate him. He had seen a few around New York he liked sneaking up behind them frantically searching after catching and losing his scent while expeirementing with the ability he had managed to kill his second monster a lastrogonian giant in the park one day. They were more of a nuisance then a threat unless they caught him completely off guard.
For Mistokinesis outside the passive effect he only had two big successes He could pull off the cloning Illusion trick Like marvel Loki and he could Let a regular person see beyond the mist for a few seconds. He had been practicing exclusively with his Uncle Simon, after he had explained the world of the gods and proving it by letting him see past the mist Uncle Simon took it harder then he had everything so far it took him months to recover from his existential crisis though he did his best to hide it from Damien though he slowly accepted his reality.
Though he didn't get to train with the mist much because he realized when actively messing with the mist it interrupts the passive smell shield that protects him from monsters. Still even with Simon's knowledge that Damien was a demigod he couldn't help treating him like a little kid and Damien's solution for that was to let his Uncle Simon watch him kill a cyclops one that had been closing in on him the last few months (don't worry not Tyson). He had to stand close to Simon to keep his shadow under him so he could see the fight.
The fight was quick and simple though Damien Had a little bit of trouble cutting through his skin So Damien ended up coating his Blade with his shadows. After that Damien cut through the monsters head like hot butter. It burst into ash leaving behind an eyeball keychain that if it had some special function Damien hadn't found one.
It was all thanks to his training that he was so confident to show off in front of his uncle He had already been showing that he was a prodigy but with his intense training schedule He was turning into a complete monster. On top of the Godly Abilities and his physical growth from his constant training, his Magic had been an area he was devoting a lot time into trying to master. His schedule looked like during the week.
He woke up early every morning between 6 and 7 and spent 2.5 hours everyday meditating working on his occlumency Then he'd join the others a little before 9 for breakfast and to send her off to school, He then trained all of his other various abilities an hour to 2 hours a day, Then he trained physical skills an hour to 2 hours, Though this came in many forms, training in sword play, swimming, rock climbing, running, Sparing with S.H.E.I.L.D. agents, Then he'd have lunch, following that He'd have a bit of school work though it was ridiculously simple but drained 3 hours a day and those were the days he worked with lexa on loric tech. He needed less and less time to work on his mundane lessons. Tuesdays and every other Thursday he would sub out his lessons entirely for S.H.E.I.L.D. work and meetings.
Some days he would try to squeeze an hour to play instruments but usually Around 4 he would be distracted by Ella returning from school usually with Rachel in tow spending afternoons hanging out and playing games Rachel usually left before dinner but they would have regular sleep overs, Usually Dinner was on the table by 6:30-7:00 there were a resolving door of guests at every meal business men who were trying to get support from projects from uncle Simon, S.H.E.I.L.D. agents potentials, Board members, The loric, One occasionally came over when she was in town though it was rare as Hilde hated Damien.
He also became friends with Sam goode the Son of Malcom Goode when he stayed in New York for two weeks joining his father on his business trip. He was nice kid a bit nerdy obsessed with aliens even without his father being abducted but he was also pretty funny. On Tuesdays he set meetings for Camp Jupiter potential S.H.E.I.L.D. agents though most were kind of depressing he usually gave money to anyone who interviewed because they were in rough situation's being a kid or legacy of the gods could be downright miserable though he couldn't do it in swift tower because they sometimes attracted monsters.
After dinner He'd usually spend a bit more time with Ella or watch a movie or reading but days he didn't spend extra time with her he would usually end up tucking her into bed around 9 every night that is when Damien would get to focus on his S.H.E.I.L.D. work sure throughout the day he did small tasks but his Though his uncle would force him to stop because he would try working late into the night.
