Chapter 21 - CHAPTER TWENTY: War:Living Dead

Young had forcefully awoken from a long sleep which had been caused by his sleep being filled with nightmares. The place he slept on in his mattress was completely soaked from the sweat that poured out of his body as he struggled to wake from the horror. His entire appearance was messy as his body was drenched and sticky with sweat, his hair unkept and pain allover his being. Parts of his body was wrapped with clothes which covered the leaves and herbs pressed into his wounds.

He remembered that the day before after killing the astral wolf and swiftly escaping the person that was about to appear at the scene at that moment, he had gone over to the riverside and after taking his clothes off had laid beneath the tree he usually came to and began treating the wounds he had sustained in the fight and after he was done had barely succeeded in sneaking into the inn to his room and had collapsed in his bed after trying to clear his mind completely. The nightmares had still came at the end and that was what lead to the present.

Moving to sit at the edge of the bed, he looked to his window to the sunlight that shone into his room. He had been asleep for almost a day only waking up at the noon and the herbs wrapped around his wounds had already done their work in completely healing the wounds. He removed the wraps and put on trousers then moved over to pick up his morning dew sword which he had tossed to the floor when he came in the day before. He observed it tracing his palm over the top of the blade as the cold seeped into him seemingly cooling down his body as the pains he felt inside slowly healing.

Apart from just being used to battle, they are some enchantments that had special traits added to them. Join to the fact that the enchantment in the sword was able to retain 92℅ of the core, the enchantment was able to slowly ease the users pain to a particular extent depending on how much pain the person is going through.

Young brought out his bag where he kept his weapons and armors opening it and tossing all the weapons on the bed. For a moment the sound of metal filled the room and when it went quiet, Young's entire mattress had been covered with weapons heaped on each other. A huge flow of energy strong enough to suffocate someone burst through the entire room as a thick wave of killing intent enveloped the air. Most of the weapons Young had had powerful enchantments and because how many he had slained through out his life, the scent of death that oozed from this weapons were suffocating. Young started picking the weapons one by one checking them out. For a time now, he had been planning on selling the weapons that he hardly used anymore to earn some money. He had a large bag filled with over fifty weapons which he had either bought, earned after killing opponents or have been gifted or bestowed with. Most of these weapons where useful some times before but now he had already gotten a good sum of powerful weapons and had no reason to keep most of them around no more. As he separated the ones to be kept from the ones to be sold, his gaze fell on seven weapons which emitted faint but thick and chaotic energies. The aura they released where powerful enough that it almost surpassed the combined aura of the other weapons around. This weapons were a nine feet reddish gold spear, an emerald bow, a two edged pure gray sword, a glaive with a green pole and silver white blade, a pair of three feet brown knives, a giant black sword with a azure colored line in the middle of the blade, and the last being the six feet six inch purple two edged sword that he had used against the vampires.

Everyone of this weapons were high high class enchantment made weapons and their strength was on another level from a lot of other weapons being among the best even in the midst of other high high class weapons. Young hardly used these weapons in all these years as not a lot of enemies powerful enough to withstand the strength of this weapons. Except for the purple sword he had used against the vampires, it had been years since he really used the others and nothing seemed worthy enough to use them against.

After Young had finished separating the weapons to be sold, he quickly stuffed the other weapons back into the bag only stopping for a moment to look at two square boxes which was almost one feet long, one brown and the other teal. His gaze stayed a little longer before he put them both back in the bag. Finally he dresses himself in a bronze robe with black pants and sandals. Putting the twenty nine weapons excluding his daggers and the morning dew sword in a bag, he made his way out of his room with his bag to notice the silence that enveloped the place, there was no soul in the balcony with all the doors being closed. Though it was strange, Young did not care to think anything of it instead making his way down the stairs only to once more see that the place was empty as well. Young being one whose being was always alert at all time could not sense any danger in the surroundings making him wonder what he could have possibly missed.

As he made his way outside, he could make out the sounds of running horses from far away only to arrive outside to see a group of soldiers on horses rushing through the road heading to somewhere he had no idea was. However the sight of the emptiness of the inn aroused questions in his mind of what was going on just as he moved towards the road and was seen by one of the warriors who stopped in front of him.

"What are you doing out here?" The warriors who was a red haired black skinned man asked Young with a commanding voice.

However instead of answering Young went on to question the man. "What has happened?"

The man gave Young a look as if asking him if he was serious when he decided to answer him instead. "This part of the kingdom is under attack and the warning bells have already been rung to alert the people to make their way to the protected halls in the vicinity, did you not hear the bells?"

"No i did not." The man was perplexed at Young's answer. The bells he spoke of where giant bells about twelve feet tall and when rung could produce enough noise to alert the people from five miles away yet this man claims to have not heard it, how could the man not be dumbfounded.

"What is this that have caused this much panic?" Young inquired.

"We were informed that a strange army of men are attacking the gate at the north at the moment and they are quite the formidable ones so these side of the kingdom have to be evacuated in case of anything happening and the situation gets out of control."

"Garlodon, move your stallion over here and stop exchanging meaningless chatters with fellow that refuse to listen to warnings."

Their conversation is interrupted by the shout of another soldier as Garlodon moved onwards leaving Young behind who watches as the warriors headed for the gate.

Young after hearing what the person had said did not care about whatever was going on only a little bit tired that he would not be able to sell his weapons. He made his way over to the stables where Alpha was making his way out of being left behind after no one was able to persuade the horse from leaving with them. The stallion made his way to his master releasing a puff of breath as he reached Young. The color of his body has changed from a dirty white to a golden white and the hair from head to back plus the hoods beneath him changing to an azure colored fire.

Young's eyebrows furrowed as he saw Alpha's appearance instantly knowing something to be wrong as this was the appearance the stallion took when in battle mode. This meant that there was a situation that needed to be solved.

As said before, Young's horse was not a normal one but a creature that was called a shape shifting horse. This kind of monsters were horses who manifest there powers by transforming into the beasts and monsters that they devoured. They were still horses and a warrior that had done a blood bond with them become their master. They were powerful beings and only subjected to equal strong beings.

As Young looked at Alpha with curiosity, a four shaped star suddenly appeared on Alpha's forehead and as Young saw this, he placed his hand on top the star and his eyes blanked for a second before he removed his hands as he spoke.

"I see."

At The Huge Gate.

A strange scene was occurring at the moment as the warriors wrestled with the attackers barely managing to hold them off before the other soldiers arrive. Men fought against men as sounds of swords clashing and the flow of blood made out the brutal battle scene. The fight has already been on for over thirty minutes but the soldiers were slowly loosing out on the battle where as the attackers seemed to not have lost any one on their sides and was not showing any signs of getting tired at any moment. At that time a man holding a spear adorned with the full white and silver armor marched forward at a group of attackers coming at him. Behind him where six people also equipped and well ready to battle.

An attacker rushed towards the almost seven feet tall man aiming to bring down his sword to take his life but was brutally hit away by the man. This man was called Dante and he was the captain leader of the group of soldiers assigned to the gate.

"Sir these are men but they do not seem to die and their skin are as hard as rock." A soldier cried out as he saw the captain approaching people.

Truly his words where correct as the attackers they faced where actually men adorned with armor and of which carried swords and lances. However their entire body was the color of gray rock with their eyes being green and having a green hole in the middle of their chest. Seeing them they looked like warriors that have been in battle for a long period of time and even the way they fought was one that could tell that they were well versed in battle.

Captain Dante after hearing this immediately charged forward as he swong his spear out hitting down this gray rock warriors with speed and skills that they were unable to dodged or block. If they were real humans, this action could have well as been the end of their lives yet this warriors stood back up looking to not be hurt in anyway as they charged back at him.

"What sought of monsters are these?" Dante was alarms as he witnessed them attack once more to which he dealt them blows once more.

Looking around the grounds that the battle ensured, Dante brows curved with worry and anger as he witnessed them being out matched and out numbered as their side suffered fatal blows from the rock men.

"Captain what should we do? We can't seem to find a weakness against them and if we keep defending against their brutal attack, the warriors will eventually tire themselves causing further loss." One of the soldiers named Zed who was also the second in command warned as he kicked away his opponent while trying to stab through the left part of another's chest only for the sword to come to an halt with the warrior only tossed backwards by the force.

Just as Dante was trying to figure out what to do, the clear sounds of horses and war chariots moving towards the battle was heard.

Staring back to see the newcomers, Dante could not help but sign as he saw the vast number of the kingdom warriors that had made their way to gate. Leading this group of warriors was Atres, one of the grand general disciple and one that Young had defeated at the ball. Besides him where eight people, three women and five men and all being powerful warriors whose strength excellent amongst the others.

The warriors immediately went on a fierce attack as they joined the others fighting at the gate. The amount of soldiers that had arrived was three to four times the number of the gray rock attackers and immediately suppressed them. However they were still difficult to kill as their body was really strong that it would have to take a number of hits from a middle high class weapon of the medium level to be able to finally finish them off. However the ones positioned at the gate had at most the middle middle class weapons with only the captain and a few others having as high as middle high class which made the battle truly frustrating.

"This is strange." Atres blurted out as he fought.

"Indeed it is." Eric one of the warriors that rode besides Atres spoke as the two battled close to each other.

"Why would this monsters suddenly attack the kingdom like this? I mean they seemed to have lost all sense of reasoning only moving with intent to kill."

"Truly spoken but if your words are correct then I must assume that they are being controlled by something or someone.

"Besides with how far I have journeyed out of the kingdom, I have no remembrance of stumbling into these creatures and am curious to how they turned up like this. Look at them, these are not ordinary monsters but skilled warriors from armies."

"Ha ha Eric." Nala one of the three ladies had managed to behead one of them while stumbling on the men's conversation.

"Are you trying to say that these things were formally normal humans."

"It is only a guess Nal, I am simply saying."

"Indeed from what we see here, we cannot deny the fact that your guess might hold some truth. However so, this warriors are already far too gone and have no chance at redemption." Atres lamented with a sign.

The battle ranged on yet the enemy proved to be quiet formidable and was still holding their own with the warriors even as they were far outnumbered. The eight outstanding warriors, Atres, Eric, Nala, Vyle, Eidan, Kane, Jade and Salt all showed of their strength as they made good work of the enemy yet their opponents were still able to hold their own against them. As the fight continued however, a group of the gray rock warriors suddenly appeared before the eight outstanding warriors and started engaging them fiercely. All of this gray men were about seven feet tall with four wielding swords and the other four wielding spears. From the way they fought, it was seen that they were certainly better in combat than the other of their kind and proved extra difficult for those they battled against.

"Where did these ones suddenly come from."

Eidan shouted as he barely managed to evade the blade of the man after his battle axe had failed to do any damage.

However the moment he moved sideways, the sound of the air tearing ringed in his ears as a spear passed him and hit his opponent on the green hole on his chest.

Eidan could only stare dumbly as he watched the opponent he battled with burst apart as the spear continued on to deal a blow on the same spot at another ahead of him.
