"I'm doing okay. How's Mr. Parker?" Victor changed his tone to talk to his youngest son.
Benny pursed his little lips, but there was clearly a trace of Daisy Joy in his features.
"Mommy's coming over." Benny said and handed the phone to Polly Sutton, "Brother's asleep."
Clearly, he wouldn't talk to Victor anymore. He'd asked the question he wanted.
Polly Sutton tucked them in, turned off the lights, and only then spoke to Victor.
Polly Sutton mentioned that all the Parker Family servants were let go, except for Mrs. Lewis who was looking after the kids. The house on the Parker Family's side was locked up, to be dealt with when he returns.
"Mrs. Parker's worked hard."
"I'm glad you know." Polly Sutton felt quite pleased with herself, it was her first time handling things independently. Back in her room, she lay on the bed looking over materials for an exam in a few days.
