Polly Sutton entered the study, and Victor Parker was sitting at the desk, looking utterly exhausted, a sight Polly Sutton had never seen before.
Polly Sutton couldn't help but be startled inside; surely her drinking hadn't been in vain?
"Did he really change his mind?" Polly Sutton asked cautiously, standing at the door and not daring to enter, fearing Victor Parker might suddenly get angry.
Victor Parker looked at the person standing at the door, picking at the door frame; sooner or later, she'd pick at every corner of the house.
"Regarding other matters, you mentioned that the old lady wanted you to marry into the Parker family to help pull them through a crisis. Of course, there's merit in it, but there are other issues," Victor Parker said, gesturing to Polly Sutton.
Polly Sutton reluctantly walked over slowly and stopped in front of his desk, "Then why aren't you happy? I thought my drinking was just for nothing."
