Since the two children were on summer vacation, they decided to take them to Kingdom Z as well.
There were three seats in a row, and the two kids sat in the inside seats. It was Tommy's first time on an airplane, and he found it fascinating, insisting on sitting by the window to look outside.
Before the plane took off, he was as excited as a spinning top, but once it started flying, his excitement dwindled. During the ascent, due to air pressure, children often feel uncomfortable, and some kids began to cry.
Polly Sutton cuddled Tommy, who had moved to the middle seat before takeoff, to soothe his discomfort. Benny also felt uneasy, frowning and clutching his seatbelt tightly, though unlike his brother, he didn't show it so openly.
It wasn't until they reached cruising altitude that Polly Sutton picked up the wilting Tommy. While other kids were crying around them, Tommy tried hard not to cry – Mommy had told him that crying in public would make others uncomfortable.
