On the rugged mountain road, a large black donkey was carrying a scholar and two trunks of luggage, trudging forward.
The scholar, clad in a plain green robe, appeared to be in his early twenties. Though his features were ordinary, his bright, spirited eyes exuded a unique scholarly aura. He also carried a longsword at his waist.
At sunset, the scholar riding the green donkey finally emerged from the mountains and turned onto the flat, open official road.
His destination was the county town of Qing'an ahead.
The scholar was lucky enough to enter the city before the gates closed.
Qing'an County is located in the southwest of Nanli Kingdom. With a population of tens of thousands, its water and land transportation is not well-developed, so it is not very prosperous. However, because it is far from the ravages of war, it is relatively peaceful and tranquil.
As night fell, the scholar in green found an inn to stay in.
