Gu Sanlang stared longingly at the two remaining slices on the table. "I'll take one to my sister, and leave the other for Dad."
Mrs. Chen said nothing. Sanlang carefully took a slice and went into the inner room.
Entering the inner room, Sanlang saw his sister holding something she was about to throw away. When she saw him come in, Gu Fei smiled. "Sanlang, can you throw this out for me?"
Gu Sanlang was dumbfounded. "Throw it away? You're not eating the rest?"
Gu Fei nodded. "Yep, I finished the apple. It's just the core, what else would I do with it?"
Gu Sanlang took the apple core from Gu Fei's hand and rushed out of the room. "You can't eat the core of an apple!"
Everyone looked at him. 'What core?'
Little Cao looked at her third uncle and slowly spat a seed out of her mouth. "Third Uncle, are you saying we can't eat this?"
Sanlang nodded emphatically and showed the apple core in his hand to everyone. "This is how Sister eats it!"
