Ningwan and Zhan Hanjue knelt together before Old Mrs. Zhan.
Old Mrs. Zhan looked at them, trembling with anger, tears streaming down her face.
One was her beloved grandson whom she raised with all her heart, and the other was the granddaughter-in-law she was completely satisfied with.
Unexpectedly, it was these two people who caused the death of her only son.
"Grandma, it was my fault. I abandoned my father to save an outsider, it's all my fault." Zhan Hanjue hung his head, apologizing in a low voice.
Ningwan's body trembled.
She suddenly recalled the time Zhan Hanjue took her to pay respects to his father and insisted she kneel.
She indeed should kneel; she owed him a life.
"But Grandma," Zhan Hanjue continued, "if it weren't for Ningwan, I might have died in that car accident too. It was her cries that woke me up, giving me a chance to escape."
"So, you gave up on your father just to save her?" Old Mrs. Zhan questioned.
Zhan Hanjue lowered his head once again.
