"The child is not compatible with his father's," the doctor tried to explain.
"What do you mean not compatible?!" her voice rose, she could not help it.
"His father will not be a suitable bone marrow donor," the doctor continued.
She felt her whole world shatter as she realized what the person in front of her was saying.
"Then how do I save my child? Please tell me there is a way," the despair in her voice could not be denied.
"Another child from the same father would be a suitable match," the doctor suggested.
"Is there no other way?" she said, rubbing her knees to stop them from shaking.
"I am sorry, miss," were the words she dreaded to hear most.

"What did you say?" Mary felt her heart jump out of place at his words.
"I said if we have to do this, we have to do this right. The gods will just punish us more if we continue to live in sin," he answered.
