"What?! Elayne went to jail?!"
Kaidel screamed the moment he heard the news from Mark. His voice cracked with pure disbelief as he stared at the tall skeleton, then noticed how annoyed and furious Blank looked while standing behind him, his arms tightly crossed over his chest.
"Wait, wait, wait! How did that even happen?! Why would Elayne go to jail?! What about the tournament? And what did you guys do?!"
"She wouldn't have if we had just killed all the guards!" Blank protested loudly, his tone full of restrained anger. "But this coward here decided to let them take her!"
"I didn't do that," Mark answered calmly, though a hint of frustration colored his words. "Trust me, I was also going to help her, but she specifically said that we should leave her be. I don't know exactly what she's planning, but whenever Elayne does something like this, it somehow works out in the end."
