It was a big explosion that caused the cave to have sudden earthquakes. Lucien was afraid the walls would cave them in. He instinctively put his arms around Aiden. Protecting him deeper in his bosom.
After a few more minutes, the quake finally calmed down. Lucien raised his head and listened to the surroundings.
Aiden was on top of him. Silent all along. He refused to look at Lucien and chose to bury his face in Lucien's chest.
When Lucien finally made sure that the area was quiet and safe, he tapped on Aiden's shoulder.
"You can get up now. It seems the little turtles won't pursue us anymore"
Judging by the impact of that earthquake, Lucien doubts if those little vicious ones made it out alive.
Aiden slowly gets up, refusing to look at him. Despite holding out his hand to assist Lucien in getting to his feet. Lucien groaned as he stood up. His back and nape hurt. Being flung aside caused the back of his head to knock out onto the hard ground.
