Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Flirting with a Married Woman

"I don't mean that, it's just..."

The phone suddenly rang; it was Elara Don with a video call request.

"I have a call coming in, let me answer it first."

Elara Don forcefully pushed Damon Hawke away, flustered as she pulled out her phone from her pocket.

When she saw the caller display on the screen, she cleared her throat and walked towards the restroom.

A trace of a smile flickered in her eyes.

She answered and softened her voice, smiling at the little child on the video, "Hello, Tilly darling, do you miss me?"

"Mommy, I miss you."

The little child held a doll in her hand, blinking big eyes, pouting her little red lips at the camera.

"I miss you too! Have you eaten?"

"I have. Mommy, I want kisses, I want hugs."

"Haha, okay, let me give Tilly my darling a kiss."

"..."

A gentle, tender voice came from the restroom.

She called her "my darling" over and over, coaxing the little child on the video.

Damon Hawke stared at the restroom door, a flash of surprise in his deep black eyes.

She's married!

She even has a child?

And he, unexpectedly, flirted with a married woman?

Suddenly, he felt a sense of defeat, as if he'd been tricked.

Damon Hawke's face instantly turned cold, his tumultuous emotions gradually regaining composure.

In the restroom, Elara Don chatted a bit with the little child, then a handsome man's face appeared on the video.

"Elly, is everything okay since you returned to Sea City?"

Upon hearing this, Elara Don smiled slightly, "Quite good."

"Tilly misses you a lot, I'm planning to take her back to the country; her grandparents always want to see her."

The man looked at Elara Don, a trace of tenderness in his black eyes.

"Okay, let's talk more when you return."

Elara Don smiled and then hung up the call.

She looked at her phone, her smile slightly subdued.

The man and child in the video were Evan Miles and his daughter Claire Grant.

As for her, she was Claire Grant's godmother.

It could be said this was fate.

Back then, after Evan Miles and she canceled the engagement, he was arranged by his family to marry a woman whose family was equally wealthy.

The woman was the Collins Family's daughter Abigail Lane, who had always admired Evan Miles.

After their marriage, Abigail Lane soon became pregnant.

When she was seven months pregnant, she went to Country F to celebrate Evan Miles' birthday while he was on a business trip there.

But on the way, they had a car accident and both were severely injured.

Their daughter was born under such circumstances.

Abigail Lane died, and her last words were to save the child.

Evan Miles barely survived but had a slight limp.

He was saddened and guilty over Abigail Lane's death, so he named the daughter Claire Grant.

At that time, she went to the hospital with her sick daughter Bea, and met Evan Miles.

Time passed and she and Evan Miles became friends again.

Claire Grant liked her very much and, when she began speaking, would unclearly call her 'Mommy.'

Thus, she simply accepted Claire Grant as her goddaughter.

Thinking of these past events, Elara Don sighed softly.

Life is unpredictable.

She never expected she'd be friends with Evan Miles again.

And the way he looked at her...

Elara Don pressed her lips, put away her phone.

What's gone is indeed gone.

She and he ultimately have fate but no destiny.

Elara Don composed herself, opened the restroom door.

At this time, Damon Hawke held a wine glass and stood by the window, his tall figure appearing even more imposing under the light.

Elara Don blinked, inexplicably overlapping this figure with another in her mind.

This thug's back really looks like Damon's!

"Are you married?"

The man suddenly turned around, looking at her intently with his dark eyes.

"Ah?"

Elara Don was taken aback, not reacting for a moment.

"Wasn't the man and the child in your video call your husband and child?"

Damon Hawke's eyes moved slightly, a trace of hope flashed through even unbeknownst to him.

Hoping she'd deny it.

"Well...yes, I'm married! So, don't even think about hitting on me!"

Elara Don's eyes flashed, she emphatically nodded.

She did not want this thug to have any hopes for her!

She might as well just brush him off!

So, she was indeed married!

Damon Hawke tightly pressed his thin lips, his aura around him grew colder.

His gaze shifted from Elara Don's face, his lips light spat out two words.

"Get out."

"Ah?"

Elara Don was startled, sensing the man before her was very unhappy.

"I said get out!"

Damon Hawke sneered coldly, "Why, don't want to leave? Do you want to keep something from your husband for me?"

Elara Don: "..."

What the heck!

Forget it, let him misunderstand.

Anyway, she didn't want to have too much interaction with him.

"Then I'm leaving! But still, thank you for today."

Elara Don pouted, looking at the man's proud figure, "Drink less, don't disregard your own health. Also, if possible, I advise you to find a decent job, stop your fighting and killing every day."

He's the child's father after all, she naturally didn't want him to truly get into trouble.

She hoped he would be safe and sound.

The woman opened the door and disappeared out of sight.

Damon Hawke's aura was cold as ice, his jaw clenched tight.

This woman, being married, should know her place!

Wantingly coming out to allure other men, quite loose!

"Master, Riveras Hayes and the others have been thrown out by me. They know they've messed with the wrong person."

Chase Quinn silently entered the room after Elara Don left.

Earlier he had sent off a client, when he returned, he found the master's room had an incident.

He intended to intervene but saw Elara Don there.

His instincts told him the master would probably prefer he not intervene, so he hid in the shadows observing.

"Isn't the Netherworld Organization currently looking for opportunities to expand in the architectural sector? So let's start with Peak Architecture!"

Damon Hawke drained a mouthful of wine, a flash of icy menace streaking through his deep black eyes.

...

Fairlight Manor.

"What did you say? That idiot Riveras Hayes, not only failed to get Elara Don, but was crippled by the Netherworld Organization's members? That useless old guy, given such an opportunity, yet he couldn't seize it."

Victoria Don stood in a corner, angrily answering a call.

Earlier when Riveras Hayes didn't succeed in the hotel, she had given Elara Don's home address to him, instructing him to stake it out.

She thought it was foolproof, Elara Don surely couldn't escape Riveras Hayes' clutches.

But unexpectedly, the Netherworld Organization intervened?

The people in that organization were just thugs, weren't they?

When did that bitch Elara Don get involved with thugs?

Victoria Don cursed a couple of times then hung up the call, her expression sour.

From the bushes, Harry Soo peeked his little head out, glaring at Victoria Don as she entered the villa gate, his small hand tightly clenching the bottle he held.

Damn old auntie, bullying mommy again!

Have to give her a proper lesson!
