Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Stood Up

"Hello, Mr. Hawke."

Elara Don looked at Damon Hawke's emotionless face and greeted him graciously.

What a crappy coincidence!

I didn't expect yesterday's narcissist to actually be the head of Hawke Group!

Being in a high position, no wonder he sees himself as a piece of Tang monk meat, thinking everyone wants a bite of him!

"You're a perfumer? Is Lionne Fragrances out of people? They actually sent a woman to handle technical liaison? Rhun, call Lionne and tell them to send someone else over."

The man's gaze was scorching, his deep voice carried disdainful skepticism.

Elara Don choked, already having a poor impression of him, now her impression was even worse.

He looked down on her!

This man is not only a narcissist but also misogynistic!

Elara Don glared at Damon's retreating back and spoke suddenly.

"Director Lane, today you're wearing men's cologne, but not the latest version, it's the elegant series produced the year before last. The little girl at the reception, you're wearing Dior's latest enchanting series. And you, you sprayed two kinds of perfume…"

She has a keen sense of smell.

Once she smells it, she can quickly distinguish what perfume the other person is wearing.

Isn't someone looking down on her?

She let the other party see what she can do!

The woman spoke fluently, naming the perfume brands worn by everyone present.

Without a single error!

It drew countless exclamations!

Damon's steps had long halted, he turned his head, looking at Elara Don's graceful smile, his eyebrows deep.

This woman seems to have some skills!

However, the position of a perfumer is of great importance.

Can she really do it?

"Mr. Hawke, Ryan said Charlotte is their most talented perfumer, you see…"

Ethan Lane had long been admiring Elara Don, hoping Damon would change his mind and keep Elara Don.

Damon's thin lips lightly pursed, just about to speak, but heard the woman's clear voice.

"Director Lane, I'm not very learned and likely won't be able to compare notes with you this time. Since your Mr. Hawke has other arrangements, I'll take my leave."

Who wouldn't hold their own?

If someone loves to put on airs, is she supposed to fawn over them?

Hope he doesn't beg her to come back!

Elara Don briskly turned and left proudly.

Damon: "..."

Was he just stood up?

The first time seeing a woman with such a big temper!

"Mr. Hawke, about this..."

Ethan had an anxious look, Damon's eyes cooled, "Rhun, call Ryan and ask if he still wants to continue the cooperation with employees this uncooperative?"

Does her boss even know about someone's explosive temper?

Outside, Elara Don took a deep breath, looking around the roadside and finally hailed an empty cab.

Today, someone sent her back, next time when they're asking her to come again, she won't be at their beck and call!

Elara Don got in the car, and it slowly moved forward.

In another luxury car passing by, a little figure's small hands were grasping the window, eyes staring at the departing taxi.

It's that auntie from yesterday!

How did she end up at Dad's company?

"Charlie, what are you looking at? We're at Dad's company now. Are you uncomfortable wearing a mask? Why don't Mummy help you take it off?"

The car stopped by the roadside, a woman's deliberately softened voice sounded.

Dominic Hawke slightly tilted his head, avoiding the woman's hand, quickly pulling open the car door and climbing out.

He moved so quickly, as if avoiding something dirty.

The woman's hand awkwardly stretched in mid-air, slowly clenched into a fist.

This ungrateful brat, why is it so hard to win his heart!

After all, he's not my own!

"Hello, Miss Thorne."

The employees in the front hall greeted her one after another.

Victoria Don casually responded with a hum, high-chin adjusting her waves with a cold arrogance.

Her gaze fell to the little button atop the reception chair flipping through guest records, a trace of impatience flashed in her eyes.

"Charlie, what are you looking at? Let's go, hurry up and go with Mummy to Dad's office! Mummy finally got a day off, you need to celebrate with Dad for Mummy."

The little guy flipped through the guest records without saying a word, ignoring Victoria.

He wanted to see who the aunt was that just came in?

Susan?

Perfumer?

So the aunt just now was a perfumer?

"Dominic, Mummy is talking to you! Didn't you hear?"

Victoria snatched the little guy into her arms, avoided others' gaze, and pinched him hard on the side.

Little brat, told him to disobey!

Anyway, he doesn't like to talk, pinching him won't show any bruises!

Dominic's butt tightened, his weak shoulders stiffened, and his little eyeballs reddened slightly.

The little head flashed to the image of Elara Don with her son.

That Aunt Susan is so gentle to her little baby.

Why does his own Mummy secretly pinch him?

He dislikes her!

"Hey, do you think our president will marry Miss Thorne this year?"

"I don't think it's likely; can't you tell? The little master doesn't seem close to Miss Thorne, and the president is more concerned about the little master."

"Tsk, this Miss Thorne is quite something, four years ago she quietly got pregnant with the president's child, and now holding onto Mr. Hawke's leg, flourishing in the entertainment circle, it's really enviable!"

"..."

Seeing Victoria hold Dominic into the elevator, those in the front hall began whispering, looking all gossip-like.

Victoria didn't hear them, once in the elevator she put Dominic down, tidied her hair against the elevator wall.

Lowering her gaze, she looked at the little one at her feet, her almond eyes sparkling.

"Charlie, soon you'll be going to kindergarten; typical parents live together. If you don't want others to see you as different, you should ask Dad to marry Mummy, got it?"

She's been Damon Hawke's fiancée for four years, and should become the rightful young Mrs. Hawke!

Damon cares most about what his son thinks; as long as the son asks, he'll undoubtedly agree!

The little one remained silent, but the line pressed under his mask showed his strong opposition.

He didn't want Dad to marry Mummy!

If he could, he wished Aunt Susan could be his Mummy!

Meanwhile.

Elara Don took her son shopping at a nearby mall.

"Mummy doesn't have to work - that's awesome!"

Harry Soo holding an insect jar, bounced alongside Elara Don, all smiles.

"Bea, walk carefully, don't get bumped."

Elara Don chuckled, looking at her son bouncing happily, all troubles vanished.

"Hehe, Mummy, look at me! I found another stinkbug."

Harry Soo swayed the insect jar proudly.

Elara Don laughed, took him to the children's section to pick out some seasonal clothes.

The little one grows fast, and with autumn coming, old clothes wouldn't fit.

"Mummy, there's a kid's playground over there, I wanna play for a while."

Harry Soo pointed at the children's playground in the corner of the mall, looking eagerly.

"Go ahead, be safe."

Elara Don smiled, gestured him to play.

Domestic environment surely feels better for the kid's growth.

Elara Don's lips curled as she bought some clothes but then suddenly got stomach pain.

Looks like it's that time of the month.

"Sorry, please hold my items, I'll be right back from the restroom."

Elara told the clerk, then hurried to the restroom.

Unexpectedly, she bumped into someone around the corner.

A woman gasped, "What's the matter? Can't you watch where you're going?"
