The graduation party held by the Jatmiko family was considered too luxurious than other parties.
"Congratulations, dear," said the woman in the broken white dress, who was none other than her mother.
Congratulations from relatives and business associates were scattered in the hall of a hotel in Bandung that night. Mrs. Carissa Jatmiko deliberately rented a luxury hotel on Jalan Dago to celebrate the graduation of her youngest child, Yonaa. That night the hall was filled with men in suits and women in luxurious dresses. Most of them are business partners of Tora Jatmiko – Yonaa's father.
Yonaa herself was a bit uncomfortable being in the middle of the banquet. It felt very strange and too luxurious to call it a graduation celebration. Previously, when her second sister – Gea – was not as lively and luxurious as the current party.
'I think dad has other intentions, besides celebrating my graduation. But what is it? Ah, I don't know ... ' Yonaa thought as she continued to smile at the guests who congratulated her.
Ting …! Ting …! Ting … !
Mr. Tora rang his wine glass with a small spoon. He tried to grab the attention of the crowd with the sound produced by the collision of a spoon and a glass cup.
"I thank you very much, for being present at my youngest child's graduation party, Yonaa."
Master Tora's voice echoed throughout the hall while embracing the shoulder of Yonaa who was standing on her right. His face was full of happiness and pride towards Yonaa. His eyes flashed as if implying an optimism for the future.
"Perhaps some of the business partners present here already know that my eldest son, Zico, in the past few days has been busy taking care of the opening of several subsidiary branches in England and France," continued Mr. Tora with pride and dignity.
Mr. Tora patted Zico on the shoulder proudly who was on his left. A handsome young man in a suit with combed hair smooth, smiled at him. It's a stark contrast to the handsome face that Mr. Tora has. Like a duplicate of lord Tora when he was younger.
"Therefore, at the party tonight. I will give you the good news, that the company that I have built since I was a teenager, will be led by my youngest child, Yonaa Jatmiko!" cried Mr. Tora.
All pairs of eyes immediately fell on the figure of a girl who was standing not far from Mr. Tora. He himself was taken aback by his words.
Hearing that, Yonaa's ears seemed to have been struck by lightning. She could not believe hearing the sacred announcement by holding her name at the end of the sentence. All the invited guests present applauded happily hearing the announcement from Mr. Tora. However, there is also a discordant voice that whispers and brings up the name of Gea Jatmiko – the second child of Tora Jatmiko.
"How come Mr. Tora chose Miss Yonaa over Miss Gea? It's weird, isn't it?"
"Ah, yes. Why did Mr. Tora entrust the central company to his youngest child? Doesn't Miss Gea have a place in Mr. Tora's heart?"
"I heard that Miss Gea was punished by her father for her excessive behavior."
Whispering between invited guests is inevitable. There are those who feel empathy for the announcement, there are also those who ignore the decision of Mr. Tora. They thought, after all, whoever is in office they still have to obey.
After introducing Yonaa to some of Mr. Tora's business partners, the atmosphere finally relaxed. Some of the invited guests enjoyed the dishes that had been prepared and some were chatting with other invited guests.
"Dad! Dad, why announce such an important thing at my graduation party? You haven't even told me beforehand about the transfer of CEO position from Zico to me? I… I feel uncomfortable, dad… " Yonaa protested after she felt her father was no longer busy serving greetings from guests of his business partners.
"Honey… it's a surprise. Isn't that the way of surprise? Why are you uncomfortable?"
Mr. Tora smiled gently while stroking Yonaa's long hair.
"You don't need to feel uncomfortable. Of course, I know I won't let you go on the first day. Zico will direct you for a few days so you can get used to the duties at the office," continued Mr. Tora.
"You don't have to be afraid. I'll always be there to help you," Zico said.
Yona gave a forced smile. It wasn't really what she was worried about. Yonaa is a girl who has brilliant achievements in all academic fields. Since childhood, she has always won in all subjects at her school, until she sits in college-even though he always gets more attention from the lecturers. Not because of her family background or her beautiful face, but the achievements in all subjects always exceed the expectations of the lecturers.
What is currently on Yonaa's mind is about her sister. No, not Zico! But Gea. I don't know what's the reason for Gea, since she was little, she always seemed to stay away from Yonaa. Even though at first it was just a feeling, Yonaa tried to do her best and loved her older sister.
"All right, Zico. Before you fly to London. You have to teach this sweet lady well. Don't let her get lost," joked Mr. Tora to his two children.
"Haish ... father always treats me like a child," Yonaa complained while pursing her lips, pouting.
The two of them laughed together seeing Yonaa who looked sulky. Zico gently stroked the top of Yonaa's head.
"Hey… come on you guys! Don't bother my girls!" cried Mrs. Carissa.
They turned simultaneously towards Mrs. Carissa.
"You guys always bother my daughter," said Mrs. Carissa, pretending to frown.
Yonaa's cheeks turned red. She is grateful to have a family who loves him very much. Suddenly she remembered her second sister, Gea.
"Ah, yes, Bro Zico! I haven't seen Sis Gea all this time. Did Sis Gea forget today's event?" Yonaa asked while looking around the hall.
"Haish… where else is she? I told her yesterday not to be late, now she can't even see the bridge of her nose," complained Zico while looking around.
"Don't worry too much, I'll let you call her," Zico continued, grabbing his cell phone from under his jacket. He left the crowd to be able to contact Gea comfortably.
Yona nodded half-heartedly. For a moment, the corner of his eye caught Gea's silhouette, but his thoughts and eyes were distracted by Mr. Tora who announced that Zico's CEO position would be replaced by her.
'What is this feeling. It's really suffocating,' Yonaa thought.
"Honey… why are you so quiet? Are you not feeling well?" asked Mrs. Carissa worried when she saw Yonaa's suddenly gloomy face.
"I, it's okay mom. I… maybe a little tired. But mom doesn't need to worry. I can definitely hold on until the party is over," said Yonaa hastily so that her mother wouldn't worry.
"I know you've always hated crowds like this since you were little. But, hold on until the end of the party for the sake of papa's image, okay?" asked Mrs. Carissa while gently stroking Yonaa's hair.
"Yes mom. Mama don't worry."
Yonaa's smile was very bland. She felt that the night was very long.
