Chapter 20 - Chapter 18: The Teacher Finally Arrives

In the castle, the dinner that day was nearing its end.

The lady of the house and Lin Ke's mother learned about Lin Ke wanting to spend one thousand gold coins to help Knicks with his enlightenment.

But in their eyes, it was a trivial matter, just one thousand gold coins.

One thousand gold coins? Trivial.

It's very necessary to enlighten the bloodline of a follower, so no one said anything.

The key point is that Lin Ke intends to enlighten his bloodline before his father, the real King of Azanen, returns.

Now that's a big deal!

"Little Lin Ke, why are you in such a hurry?"

Lin Ke's mother was a bit worried. After all, there were only a dozen days left, and she was hoping Lin Ke's father would return to witness his son's bloodline enlightenment together.

Can't possibly tell you it's because of a fear of running out of momentum... Lin Ke chuckled:

"Mother, I've lately felt like my time has come. I need to enlighten, just like... um, just like my bloodline is telling me."

Here, anything mystical is justified, especially this kind of mysterious perception, which sometimes is regarded as more important than experience by outsiders.

"Lin Ke, have you... have you thought it through? That's your father, the real King of Azanen. Are you sure you want to enlighten your bloodline without his witnessing?" The lady furrowed her brows, emphasizing the word "real."

Lin Ke did not want to argue with the lady at this point; after all, half of the family's wealth was under her control.

The other half was with Butler Billy, while his own mother knew nothing, always seeming naive.

"Yes, my dear lady, this is my decision as the heir of Viscount Azanen." Lin Ke replied, neither annoyed nor matchingly annoyed.

The lady said no more, finished her juice, and got up to leave.

"Little Lin Ke, since you've decided, go ahead and enlighten." Lin Ke's mother always respected Lin Ke's opinions.

Or rather, she had little opinion and would not sway Lin Ke's will.

"Alright." Lin Ke nodded, feeling a warmth in his heart.

Beside him, Knicks, who was listening with wide eyes, couldn't help but let out a small cheer.

Knicks was the fourth person in the castle allowed to dine at the table because he is a follower.

This was a rule set by Viscount Azanen, where followers were considered family and comrades, not the same as servants.

This was one of the few rules Lin Ke agreed with.

"Knicks, you can enlighten too? You're only three months old?" Lin Ke teased him a little.

"Four months..."

Knicks quickly twitched his little nose, "Where we come from, we can enlighten after two months, but our tribe had no money, wah wah wah."

Saying this, two lines of tears flowed from Knicks, seemingly reminded of sad memories.

Lin Ke was already immune.

Knicks could cry at the drop of a hat. At first, he would comfort him, but later realized it was a trap.

Who knew why Knicks, a little rabbit, had such developed tear glands.

"That's great, you can enlighten smoothly." John said sourly from the side.

Originally, he was special; besides the young master, only he could enlighten.

And now, there was an additional Knicks. Although not as intimate with the young master as he was, in some sense, his status was higher, being a follower.

Moreover, these days he had been busy learning from Billy, so Knicks had been the one at the young master's side.

This made John feel like a wronged little wife at any moment, jabbing at Knicks.

"Uh-huh... I hope I can awaken a good bloodline, so I can better help Mr. Lin Ke." Knicks readily agreed with John's words, unable to sense the sourness in them.

Lin Ke watched them, smiled, and said nothing.

Waited one day and then another.

The enlightenment mentor still hadn't come, which left Lin Ke a bit exhausted.

In fact, there were other enlightenment mentors in the nearby small town, but their levels were too low.

According to Billy and the others, besides awakening the bloodline, the mentor should also teach him a lot of knowledge that the countryside teachers simply couldn't teach well.

So they had to request the mentor who was friends with Viscount Azanen to come.

It's said that he was only a part-time enlightenment mentor, with another main profession.

Just woken up, Lin Ke, attended by servants, washed up and got dressed, while downing a cup of steaming Gula Milk and two slices of white bread, thus ending his breakfast.

He went to the balcony and took a deep breath of fresh air: "Ah... refreshing!" he stretched lazily.

However, when he admired the pristine view in the distance, he suddenly saw a figure flying in the sky, rapidly approaching.

"Holy crap! Levitation flying!"

He felt it must be a big shot if they could levitate fly!

"Alert! Alert! Look up! There's someone!"

Lin Ke quickly shouted below.

Although he didn't know if the visitor was friend or foe, it was always safer to be vigilant.

If a friend, they wouldn't attack; if an enemy, they would be shot with a rain of arrows, as the archery towers had large crossbows.

The people below heard Lin Ke's shout, and some guards immediately moved.

However, no need to notify, those special archery tower guards were far sharper than those village guards.

"Click click click..."

In just a few minutes, all the crossbows around the castle were ready.

But that figure stopped a few hundred meters away, descending instead of charging directly over.

Then, like taking a leisurely stroll, slowly walked this way.

No hostility!

Lin Ke was stunned, then moved his little legs to run downstairs. Passing by the entrance and seeing neither Billy nor John, he hurriedly instructed other male and female servants to find them.

The visitor was very likely the friend of Viscount Azanen, that enlightenment mentor!

Lin Ke had been waiting so long for him!

It was the first time in two lifetimes that a mysterious and extraordinary power appeared, making his heart itch.

"Hope it's not some gunpowder... it must be Fireball Magic..." he mused as he dashed downstairs.

He had a feeling, because of the previous King of Gods, and the fact that this person had just flown through the air without any aid.

This indeed was a magical world!

And he could learn magic and become some kind of practitioner!

Along the way, the servants were puzzled by why their young master was so agitated.

This was the first time they had seen such an excited expression on their young master's face; before, it had always been friendly and genial smiles.

Arriving on the first floor, Lin Ke tidied his slightly tousled brown hair from running too fast, coughed lightly, and tested whether his tone and voice were suitable.

This was an extraordinary practitioner!

Moreover, it was said to be quite powerful, beyond level ten.

In his imagination, surpassing level ten to reach level eleven meant being a powerhouse on the continent!

Of course, assuming the maximum level was ten and not a hundred.

"Wow! Young master!"

In front, John hurriedly ran over, seeing Lin Ke with some surprise: "Young master, are you already up? Butler Billy asked me to find you and said the mentor has arrived!"

John's face was very happy, as he could also awaken his bloodline.

"I know, where's Knicks? Go call him, we'll greet the mentor together." Lin Ke was patting his face, trying to appear more spirited.

After all, this is an otherworld; what if people think he's disheveled and refuse to help with the enlightenment.

"Oh... I'll go find him." John was unwilling, like a wife whose love was stolen.

Rabbitmen, so annoying!
