The Rapture (Prologue)

There was a man named Roberto Upney Sr, just minding their own business in his nice comfortable countryside cottage that his parents had bought for him as a birthday present.

His parents were absolutely loaded with wealth and power. They were incredibly famous celebrities, every now and then they would always win an award to the point it was an everyday occurrence.

Not only were they celebrities, they came from an old powerful and influential noble house which came from the great Europe. Although feudalism was abolished, They still did have power as the noble household transitioned to a corporation and could topple any poor subsaharan African country with enough effort.

Roberto didn't give a damn about the power of his family. He just wanted peace and quiet as he lived his life with cameras everywhere and even once, a camera up his ass.

To make the paparazzis and journalists shut up, he purposely made outright shameful facts about himself to deter the devils that were surrounding him every side.

He knew this would effectively crush his good reputation which he didn't even know he had but he couldn't care any less.

Roberto wasn't like his siblings that all had a fancy and distinguished hobby like playing 7 instruments and attempting at least two impossible noble feat.

Roberto just had a part-time job and he was still mentally a teenager although he was already 26 years old.

He just wanted to play some good games and read novels and comics. He didn't have a principle in life because even if he had one, it was just having fun.

He especially liked watching anime and manga since first, there was shit ton of them and second, well anime.

He sat at his comfy gamer chair to watch the new hyped anticipated Season 69 of My Ass Academia on his computer when suddenly, the lights started flickering like crazy and quickly afterwards went off.

The moment the lights went off, a shockwave impacted his lovely little cottage and turned it into a lovely pile of rubble.

Miraculously, we managed to survive the impact and pile of rubble by sheer coincidence as he and the chair were somehow completely unaffected straight out of a cartoon.

Roberto was freaking out not by the fact his cottage was reduced to rubble but his computer which costed several bucks.

He momentarily became depressed and was shocked by the event that was happening in front of his very eyes.

The sky was blood red and appeared to be cracking into pieces pouring out some sort of dark black liquid from the gaps.

Bright humanoids encircled by an aura of pureness and light with wings made from white flames bigger than any earth creature in history was swarming the sky shooting a beam of light with their hands.

Roberto caught a glimpse on how those unknown bright humanoids launched that beam of light and became horrified as he witnessed the hands of the humanoids brutally meshed into a cannonlike appearance.

He saw cars full of desperate people speeding beyond what they've usually drove passed by his now sad pile of rubble. People too were running for their lives. Some tripped, fell into a deep pit and broke their legs but they couldn't possibly feel the pain with all the adrenaline pumping throughout their bodies and rushed off.

He was still sitting in his comfy gamer chair frozen from the shock of the event he just witnessed. He tried to get up but his body didn't move. He tried again with all of his remaining willpower and strength to move his body and it worked. He immediately took his phone from his pocket to call his parents and siblings but unfortunately, the battery of his phone had ran out from all the grinding he did in mobile gacha games.

Roberto shouted, cursing the foolishness of his actions and ran off to the road. Explosions, screams of terror, children crying were like white noise. Those sounds were so loud the eardrums raptured but he didn't care. All he wanted was a chance to survive this world that was now invaded by this hell.

Sirens started blasting announcing that everyone to evacuate the area and arrive to a safepoint where the military was deployed. Upon that announcement, he had a stroke of hope giving his the determination to keep on going.

He used all of his saneness and willpower to ignore all the gore of the victims. He cursed to the world why this was happening as he caught a glimpse of people falling to their knees begging for forgiveness of all the sins that had committed throughout the years.

The safepoint was ten kilometres away from where the siren blasted the announcement. Roberto ran with all his might and arrived there in minutes but in reality, he arrived there a couple of hours and was greeted by the sight of complete obliteration of the safepoint.

Equipment were ravaged by fire and soldiers were either dead or suffered from their near fatal injuries gurgling blood trying to say a word but to no avail. Roberto fell to his knees, hopeless. He thought he could survive but that was a mere delusion he had.

Reality was a devil and it never made anything fair. He heard a crunching sound right beside his ears and looked to his side one of the white humanoids brutally transforming it's hand to a cannon.

It did not have a face but it seemed that it felt guilty and upset to why it was even doing this in the first place but orders were orders and it had to follow it.

A light began emerging in the end of it's cannon and the humanoid was about to launch the light when someone looking like the usual lumberjack blasting the head of the humanoid to pieces with a Mossberg 500 (or a shotgun fyi).

Golden bright sparkling liquid which seemed to be blood gushed out of it's head and some of the blood went to the lumberjack's clothes and face. The lumberjack slapped Roberto on the cheek and said, "Quit slacking lil' fella, it's Armageddon. C'mon, follow me before the flood arrives."

Roberto couldn't say a word from the shock and instead nodded and followed the lumberjack to a high hill in the distance.

From the height of the hill, he could see everything from the town being bombarded by bright yellow flashes of lightning, reducing the town to ashes and rubble. People were dying in the thousands every second that passed and more further away, a humongous metropolis was being encaged by a large purple dome which emitted a gas that violently dissolved anything within it's way.

Even more further away, he could see an waves of the unknown black liquid he witnessed earlier which looked incredibly menacing. Those big waves was accompanied by an even larger wave that stood at least a couple kilometres high.

The lumberjack then said to Roberto "Nice sight ain't it?" and sighed afterwards.

"I'm Juan, yours is?" The lumberjack Juan remarked.

Roberto felt after all the chaos that had happened the need to talk to someone. He was the verge of becoming insane but Juan was the only reason why Roberto was still sane.

"I'm Roberto."

Those two ordinary people chatted for hours and hours telling to eachother stories of their lifes. They would occasionally hide in the thick bushes whenever the bright humanoids were on patrol looking for survivors.

Eventually, the waves arrived their area. "I'm glad I could talk to someone before I suffer an excruciating death." Juan expressed. "Same by me" Roberto responded.

"If there is a next life, I hope we could meet again some other day." Juan proudly said while smiling with confidence.

As Roberto was hit by the waves, he felt his body dissolve into nothingness. He felt his bones disintegrating and his flesh and skin ripping apart with itself. It felt so excruciatingly painful that he wished that he had died any earlier. Roberto thought that he had now died but it was quite the contrary.

He was still alive, just that he was now a white translucent version of himself. He could fly around everywhere he wanted at every speed he wanted. He tried to shout to the wounded survivors from afar to run away as fast as he can but to no avail, the survivors didn't hear him.

It was but a mere spectator, watching as the world officially ends. He did see that there was also other people like him that were translucent. One of them were a family that were unfortunately suffered from an explosion from their car.

They couldn't hug each other physically as they would just phase through each other. In response to that, they pretended to hug each other as it didn't matter whether if they couldn't do it physically.

The other people that had unfortunately died were desperate to tell the survivors to evacuate just like what Roberto tried to do. The difference between them and Roberto is that Roberto figured out that he couldn't do anything but merely spectate and fly around meanwhile the others were still in their delusion of saving someone.

Roberto then looked around to see a portion of the translucent people were just flying around, oblivious to the grim scenario below them.

They didn't care about the unfortunate people about to die. They were too fascinated about their newly found powers of flying around endlessly with any velocities to their liking. Flying around and between trees in such great speeds.

Every second that passed by, hundreds of thousands of translucent people would emerge. They would either be desperate to save someone or just sit there helpless and depressed by the turn of events.

Eventually, the black liquid would encompass all of Earth's surface and literally reshaping the Earth's surface. Whole mountain ranges resembling needles below the liquid were flattened by the alienlike liquid and once flat plains began to rise to great heights no human could ever imagine.

The black liquid began to solidify, creating the landmasses of the new world. Some of it remained as a liquid in which turned into the great oceans.

Eventually, the process was complete with only one step remaining. Color appearing on the black sphere, finally turning it from a menacing blob of death to Earth once again or was it? The landmasses of Earth now looked strangely familiar. What would've been Europe now seemed to be an archipelago scattered with islands of different sizes just like the Aegean Sea.

Every human that currently lived on Earth was then in an instant, sucked like a vacuum and slammed onto the surface of the new world.
