Chapter 4 - chapter 4

"What do you want?," Jocelyn asked in fear as they began to move closer to her.

"What do we want? you are the one in our space and you keep poking your nose in our business, so what do you want Mrs Jocelyn Lance? " the man replied, surprising Jocelyn with his last words.

"I do not know who you are or what you want from me,how do you even know my name and what the hell do you want from me?," Jocelyn asked in confidence as fear began to build up inside of her.

"We know your name Jocelyn and not just your name but also the names of your sisters and your mother," the man answered and fear gripped Jocelyn again, she could feel her weak legs shaking.

"Stay away from my family and do not bring them into this, what the hell do you want from me?," She asked with fear as they were much closer to her than before.

"You brought them into this when you decided to start your stupid investigation, stop digging into the Michigan's family and your family will be safe from harm," the man replied with an evil smirk.

"Your threats will not stop me Mister, this is not the first corrupt family that I am reporting on, I did not stop then and I will not stop now. I will expose the Michigans for who they really are and I will not rest until they all are behind bars for their crimes," Jocelyn replied fearlessly and this angered the man before her.

"I knew you were going to be stubborn," he said as he roughly gripped her neck with his hands trying to choke her.

"Help, someone please help me," she screamed as she felt life leaving her body.

"I tried to do this in a better way, but it seems you like it the hard way," the man replied with a smirk as he increased his grip on her neck, choking her.

"Please stop," Jocelyn begged with the little strength left in her. She was already becoming weak and in the twinkle of an eye, the man staggered backwards after being hit by an unknown punch releasing Jocelyn and making her fall to the ground as she gasped for air.

"Who hit me?," The man asked his hefty men who were also looking very confused, they too began to wonder where the hit came from.

"We don't know boss," one of the men replied and this angered him the most.

"Shut your dumbass mouth up," he said looking angrily at the man who spoke up before he turned to face Jocelyn. " I am not yet done with you bitch," he said angrily walking towards her direction and just then, an invincible wind blew him with a force so powerful that he saw himself on the ground after hitting a very far distance wall.

"Boss!!," His men cried aloud, afraid as they turned around but saw nothing by their side.

"Let's get out of here," the man muttered inaudibly as he tried to recover from the heavy blow he just received. his men ran towards him and they took him away leaving only Jocelyn, who was lying down on the ground.

"Are you okay, young lady?," Jocelyn heard a voice from behind her say and she turned to see the most handsome man she had ever met in her entire life. he was tall and physically built with dark hair which looked very unique and he had the most beautiful eyes that she had ever seen in her life. The sight of his beauty made her forget her present state.

"Did they hurt you?," Derek asked looking at her with concern, he wondered why he cared about her even without knowing who she was. "Hello there, can you hear me at all?," He probed further as he noticed her silence and continuous stare.

"Ye-ah, yeah I'm okay, thank you very much for rescuing me from them. I don't know how you did it but you managed to scare them away, thank you very much for that," she replied shyly looking down at her hands. The sight of her doing this sent shivers into Derek's spine, he wondered why he was so affected by her obvious attraction to him and he liked the effect he had on her. He knew many women were attracted to him but their attraction towards him has never affected him at all, so he was surprised at the happiness he felt inside him over this little stranger.

No problem, young lady. Let me help you up," he said as he lifted her up gently from the ground. " You should never be in confined places like this because of hoodlums like them," Derek added, surprising himself with his words.

"You will not understand kind sir, please permit me to know your name sir. I would really like to know the name of my rescuer," she replied with a smile and once again, Derek found himself feeling happy within him.

"My name is Derek, what's yours?," Derek answered, trying to hide what he was feeling from her.

"My name is Jocelyn, I am a reporter. I was suppose to meet a source here today but I met those men instead," she replied with a smile and Derek couldn't help but chuckle.

"Just try to be more careful next time Miss Jocelyn," he said to her wondering why he just chuckled in front of a stranger.

"I will do just that Derek, it was actually very nice to meet you," she replied, moving her hands forward for a handshake.

"Same here, Jocelyn. I hope we can meet again in the near future," Derek said, surprised by his own words.

"I wish so too," Jocelyn replied with a smile and she began to walk away.

"Oh my gosh, I have never seen anyone as handsome as he is. I wondered what those men would have done to me if he hadn't intervened," Jocelyn muttered inaudibly as she walked away from me to the exit.

"Damn, who was I a few seconds ago?," Derek asked himself, still surprised by the things he said during his little encounter with Jocelyn. "Damn, I almost forgot about my meeting," he muttered angrily to himself as he walked out of the warehouse.
