Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: The Discovery

"General Skywalker, we wave something here!"

A clone solider called out to Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One; and Jedi General in command of the 501st legion.

Ever since Count Dooku, a former Jedi, left the Jedi Order he had re-emerged in the public only to make an announcement to break away from the Republic Senate.

Many star systems joined Dooku in breaking away for independence, but that was a facade.

This was all apart of the genius plan set in motion by Darth Sidious and his master before Dooku was made Sidious' apprentice.

Currently it was Year 2 into the Clone Wars since the Battle on Geonosis.

Anakin Skywalker and his master Obi-Wan Kenobi had saved Padme, Ahsoka, Captain Rex, Jar Jar and the rest of the clones that were infected by the airborne manufactured Blue Shadow Virus made by Dr Nuvo Vindi, a mad biological scientist.

Vindi had been stopped and apprehended by Republic Forces a few weeks ago.

After checking on his Padawan Ahsoka and his secret wife Padme was cured and had fully recovered. Anakin had gone back to Naboo and to Vindi's facility to fully investigate it and hopefully scan any of the systems for information regarding the Separatists and their plans.

The clone that had called out to Skywalker had been one that was trained amongst many others in Splicing (hacking) the facilities database terminals to recover any information.

Skywalker walked over to the clone, and so too did Captain Rex, that was accompanying the Jedi.

"What is it Kicks?" Skywalker asked the clone at a terminal, holding a Holo pad he had used to copy the data since the screen of the terminal was damaged.

The clone handed over the Holo pad to him to see for himself.

Anakin glazed over the contents and his eyebrows furrowed in concern.

"General Skywalker, what did Kicks find?"

"Dr Vindi was working alongside another biological scientist at this facility briefly. They had been able to transfer the Blue Shadow Virus into a biological gland which they implanted into a…thing…they are in the process of creating. A biological creature."

"I-well that is concerning but surely that wouldn't get you this worked up?" Rex questioned wanting to understand what more was it that had the General on edge.

Anakin handed the Holo Pad in his hand to Rex.

What he saw was so shocking he had to take off his helmet to see it with his own eyes.

"Sir-"

"Contact the Council Rex, I need to inform them about this."

"Most concerning, this is." Master Yoda said in his odd way of talking.

The hologram flickered as Anakin's figure alongside his Padawan Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex.

He explained Project Chimera – the Separatists' grotesque fusion of countless species, engineered into a living weapon.

The creature wasn't just armored or strong; its very biology weaponized the Blue Shadow Virus, concentrated into a venomous spray lethal enough to fell entire platoons.

In addition, it had various other abilities though there wasn't any spec

Obi-Wan stroked his beard, a deep frown etching his face.

If anyone from Earth was in the room, the word 'Dragon' would be the perfect way to describe Project Chimera.

Master Windu's stern gaze intensified. "An army of these things?" he pressed, his voice tight.

Anakin nodded grimly, projecting a schematic stolen from Vindi's terminal onto the Council chamber floor.

It showed rows of cloning tubes, each holding a monstrous, scaled embryo bathed in eerie green nutrient fluid.

The creature's anatomy was a horror – Krayt dragon bone fused with Durasteel plating, Sando aqua monster musculature, and glands pulsing with the extracted, concentrated Blue Shadow liquid.

Rex, helmet tucked under his arm, looked visibly pale. If these things were unleashed in large numbers the number of deaths of his brothers would be immeasurable.

"Yes, but there seems to be only one and close to be completed, successful Chimera. All the others had failed yet their bodies were preserved in a secret level at the lowest point of Vindi's laboratory here on Naboo since they had glands carrying the Blue Shadow Virus." Anakin stated.

The holographic image shifted to reveal a vast subterranean chamber, its walls slick with condensation.

Inside, row upon row of cloning tubes stood like morbid sentinels. Most held grotesque failures suspended in murky fluid.

creatures with malformed wings, exposed ribs fused incorrectly with durasteel, or limbs twisted into useless claws.

One tube dominated the center, taller than the others but it was empty.

"This isn't just a creature, Masters," Anakin continued, his voice tight. "It's a mobile plague dispenser. Vindi's notes indicate it can aerosolize the venom over hundreds of meters with a single breath. Armor won't stop it. Blasters might not penetrate its hide fast enough before it unleashes hell."

He gestured sharply at the central tube. "That one...had the near completed specimen inside. The Separatists must have moved it before we secured the lab. We found only the failures." Rex shifted beside him, his knuckles white on his helmet's rim.

The silence from the Council chamber felt heavy, thick with the unspoken dread of entire legions dissolving in a choking, blue mist.

Obi-Wan leaned forward, his hologram flickering. "Where is the viable specimen now? And its creators?" His calm tone contrasted sharply with the grim set of his jaw.

Anakin brought up a fragmented transmission log intercepted from the terminal.

"The last coordinates point towards the Inner Rim, but we dont know where exactly only Vindi seems to know. Vindi's collaborator vanished weeks ago."

He paused, letting the implications hang.

The name 'Geonosian Dr. Zell' flashed briefly on screen.

"This Zell perfected the gland implantation Vindi couldn't manage alone. He is shown to be a more refined specialist in the field of biological cloning as he is the one that is leading and contributed mostly to Project Chimera."

Mace Windu's eyes narrowed. "A single creature loose is catastrophic enough. An army..." He didn't finish.

The image shifted again, showing schematics of the Chimera's attack vectors – wings enabling silent atmospheric insertion, thermal scans revealing near-invisibility against volcanic heat signatures, and chilling calculations of viral dispersal range.

Rex inhaled sharply; those numbers meant a single creature could sterilize a city block in minutes. Yoda's ears drooped. "Prevent this, we must. At any cost."
