Thanks to the use of an old call sign by one of Alistair Lifeflight's pilots during the exchange with the military's air tanker, Zeph learn both pilots had served in the military for a decade before transitioning to service in the private sector. It explained why they didn't react much to his mentioning that they wouldn't be landing to refuel, and their skill when it came to landing something the size of the medivac aircraft on the Quantum Wings of the Abyss' landing pad.
The roar of thrusters and the humming of the Holy Trinity's engines did little to help lull Zeph's worried mind into a more relaxed state, but the sight of Central's skyline on the horizon seemed to have a marginal positive effect on him as he allowed himself to make a casual comment to Jade.
